The British Muslim Awards 2014 presented by Islamic Bank of Britain

The British Muslim Awards will celebrate and showcase the determination, hard work and personal achievements of British Asian men and women at the forefront of their industries.

The prestigious Awards have been celebrated annually since 2013 - They embody the continuing strength of Britain’s Asian community, recognising those whose vision, courage, and creativity has led to their success in an ever evolving economic landscape.

This year the competition has become more intense as the event itself has grown into a highly respected outlet where the best and brightest are honoured. Good luck to all the finalists and thank you all for attending.

The National Zakat Foundation is a ground-breaking initiative which utilises Zakat funds collected in the UK for the benefit of local, deserving recipients. This group includes some of the most vulnerable members of our community, including the homeless, refugees, single parents and the elderly.

Since our inception just two and half years ago, we have distributed a record £1 million of Zakat funds in the UK, helping transform the lives of over 1,000 vulnerable families and individuals facing poverty and hardship on our doorstep. Over three quarters of the cases we have supported have been related to homelessness, hunger and destitution.

But our work doesn't stop here.

We aim to distribute the next £1 million of Zakat and change at least another 1,000 lives in the next twelve months.
