The importance of Statistics Reliable official statistics offer a framework for GoR accountability towards Rwandan citizens/taxpayers NISR and National Statistical System (NSS) at large have the mission to provide relevant, reliable, coherent, timely and accessible statistical information and services to various sectors of the society in a coordinated and sustainable manner. Data Collection in Rwanda Data Producers: In Rwanda, many organs (GoR, NGO, Private Sector etc.) collect data and provide statistical information and services Two principal sources of data: surveys/censuses, administrative records HOW? Rules Governing Data Collection The main objectives: Rwanda official statistics be in accordance with the UN Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics, UN Handbook of Statistical Organisations and other international standards. Planning process Planning is the process of selecting the best available alternative materials and actions to achieving specific goals in the future with available resources. Planning process There is inter-relationship among policy-making, planning and implementation to the extent that it is difficult to distinguish where one ends and the other begins. Planning process Planning is also a continuous activity as there is need for continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure implementation of programmes and projects in achieving targets.
