He knew what was in a man.’ John 2:25 NIV Jesus put in hours of prayer, effort and time loving His disciples, and for what? When His hour of need came, they were nowhere to be seen. But despite Peter’s denial and an en masse letdown by His mates, Jesus didn’t regret His effort Nor did He retaliate in anger or distance Himself from them. Jesus took his friends just as they were and that always meant there was potential for hurt and disappointment. But this wasn’t a deciding factor for Him. He loved them from the start to the end. And that meant having reasonable expectations of them, knowing what we humans are like (prone to getting it badly, badly wrong!) So He didn’t lose the plot, even when they did. At the same time, He didn’t lower His own high standards. Jesus loved without conditions or pressure. You can do it too. That may be easier to say than do, especially when someone’s doing your head in. The perfect relationship, the perfect job, the perfect boss, the perfect church, the perfect neighbourhood, the perfect school, the perfect friend - none of them exist! God knows that and He never commands you to do something without giving you the ability to carry it out. Through the process of loving others, He promises you’ll become more like Him. Is there someone in your life you need to be more gracious towards? Be real with God and allow Him to lighten your load. - word4U2day (an adaptation of The Word for Today authored by Bob & Debby Gass) PRINCIPAL’S UPDATE - Year End Program Dear Parents I am writing today to update you on our year end school closure plans for 2013 as they are a little different this year. Speech Night is on Thursday, December 12 and this is our last formal occasion for the year. Then, 3 days later we have the fun and enjoyment of Road to Bethlehem (RTB). RTB has become a significant event for the wider central coast community at large, with over 4,000 people visiting campus for this event each year. 2013 sees the event now running for its 12th consecutive year. Whilst this event is normally arranged by the consolidated Adventist Church community on the coast, this year, the school has been required to take on a higher leadership role to deliver the program. The major impact of this is the need to allocate teaching staff to RTB roles in a formal sense this year directly following Speech Night. Therefore, after Speech Night, teaching staff will be investing their time in RTB preparation and delivery. Normally teachers are available for contact the day after Speech Night through to school closure for teachers the following Tuesday. This year however, if you need to contact teachers during this time please direct your contact via main, primary or secondary admin. The admin team will then facilitate contact for you by passing on messages in a co-ordinated fashion. You may though find the return contact does not happen until after Tuesday, December 17 with the end of RTB, so we ask for your patience and understanding regarding this. If your enquiry can be facilitated by the admin staff though in the mean time, we will endeavour to do so. The Primary school program is as follows;

Secondary school Academic Committee have been very clear in this expectation with students.If you hear ‘rumours’ from students about school not being compulsory after exams, that is not the case. School is on.Should you give permission for your child not to attend, then that is of course your choice and one we will honour; but school is operating, be assured of that.Thank you for your time in reading this update and best wishes for these final weeks of busyness before year end.RegardsDean BennettsPrincipalCAMPUS NEWSSpeech Night - Thursday, 12 December 2013Our Speech Night programs are an opportunity for the whole school community to celebrate the culmination of another school year and we would like to invite you all to come along and participate. At that stage, the boys were undefeated (3 wins, 1 draw) and the girls had 3 wins and 1 loss. All teams had to huddle under the clubhouse and wait for the storm to pass, then the decision was made that it was too wet to continue safely.
