Message from the Pastor Today we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord into heaven. Christ has accomplished His mission and now returns to the Father; one day He will come back to judge the world in great power and majesty. But, how was that mission of Christ on earth carried out? Was it like a bed of roses, a comfortable and easy life through which He obtained first prize? We all know that’s not so. We have just celebrated the Paschal feast. First He had to become flesh—of itself a humilia-tion—and live a life worse than any of ours, be rejected by His own, betrayed by His friends; He had to drink the cup of sorrow, the cross, death, before coming to the resurrection and the ascension. We rejoice in this celebration of the Ascension of the Lord because we see our own future realized in Jesus. We too work with great effort to come to the glory of the Father. We too want to go to heaven. We too labor and sow, many times with tears and weeping, but we will reap in joy the fruit of our efforts. Congratulations to our new priest Fr. Gustavo Barros who was ordained this Saturday and we also congratulate our mothers today in their day. Happy Mothers Day!

Mensaje del Párroco Hoy celebramos la Ascensión del Señor a los cielos. Cristo ha cumplido con Su misión y vuelve al Padre para algún día volver a juzgar al mundo con gran poder y majestad. Pero ¿cómo ha sido esta misión de Cristo aquí en la tierra? ¿Fue un lecho de rosas, en donde llevando una vida cómoda llegó a al-canzar el primer puesto? Ya sabemos que no. Acabamos de cele-brar la Pascua. Primero tuvo que encarnarse y ya esto represen-ta una humillación, vivir una vida mucho peor que cualquiera de las nuestras, recibir el rechazo de los suyos, la traición de los amigos; tuvo que beber el cáliz del dolor, la cruz, la muerte, an-tes de llegar a la resurrección y a la ascensión. En esta celebración de la Ascensión del Señor nos llena-mos de gozo porque vemos realizado en Jesús nuestro futuro. También nosotros nos esforzamos para poder llegar a la gloria del Padre. También nosotros queremos ir al cielo. También no-sotros trabajamos y sembramos muchas veces entre lágrimas y sollozos, pero recogeremos alegres el fruto de nuestro esfuerzo. Felicitamos a nuestro nuevo sacerdote P. Gustavo Ba-rros que fue ordenado este sábado y también felicitamos a nuestras madres hoy en su días. ¡Feliz día de las madres!
