Lauderdale – Callao/Lima, Peru) Professor Jack Hardy has taught at the American University of Beirut, Oregon State University, and Western Washington University and was a senior research scientist at Baelle’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the U.S. EPA. He has authored six books and many other publications. Dr. Martin Cohen, Tropical Ecologist On board from Sept. 10 – Oct. 28 (Ft. Lauderdale – Papeete, French Polynesia) For more than 30 years, Dr. Martin Cohen has worked as a tropical zoologist and wildlife commentator. He has conducted wildlife surveys and biodiversity monitoring, and researched and presented wildlife information on television, including a landmark BBC natural history series. Gerald McCormack, Naturalist On board from Oct. 3 – Nov. 26 (Easter Island – Auckland) Gerald McCormack has encyclopedic knowledge of South Pacific flora and fauna. Director/Researcher of the Natural Heritage Trust, he is the main designer and content contributor of its online Cook Islands Biodiversity Website, a database with 4,500 marine and terrestrial species. History & Perspectives Kim MacQuarrie, Emmy Winning Documentary Film-Maker On board from Sept. 10 – Sept. 27 (Ft Lauderdale – General San Martin) Kim MacQuarrie is a writer, a four-time Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker (The Living Edens) and an anthropologist. The author of four books on Peru, where he resided for five years, he lived with and studied the Yora, a recently contacted tribe of indigenous Amazonians. Dr. Tobias Sperlich, Cultural Anthropologist On board from Sept. 26 – Oct. 14 (Lima – Papeete) Dr. Tobias Sperlich, head of the University of Regina’s Department of Anthropology, is an expert in the evolution of the people who came to live in Polynesia—from their arrival to their modern-day successes. He has conducted fieldwork in Apia, Saoluafata and Fagaloa Bay, Samoa.

Carlos Estévez, ChefOn board from Sept. 10 – Sept. 19 (Ft. Lauderdale – Puerto Caldera)With more than 15 years of culinary experience as restaurant consultant, executive chef and cooking instructor, Chef Carlos Estevez is well-versed in world cuisines. He has served as executive chef/director of Restaurant Jasmine and La Boheme Bistrot, in the Dominican Republic.
