READING IS RICH IN ESTABLISHED, MATURE BUSINESSES - EVEN GLOBAL GIANTS, BUT ALSO A PLETHORA OF FAST GROWING START- UP BUSINESSES UTILISING INTERESTING HOME-GROWN INNOVATION.
ALTITUDE ANGELS
Richard Parker founded Altitude Angel to simplify the safe use and adoption of drone technology across the world. The team connects drone operators with authoritative, accurate and relevant information about the physical world and the regulations that apply to their drone flights. Embedding safety and navigation features feed directly into drones and their control applications helps them avoid collisions with each other, with manned aviation and no-fly zones.
SAFETONET
SafeToNet is a privately funded behavioural analytics business that provides cyber security at a human level. With stories concerning cyber abuse appearing in the news on a daily basis, the Reading based team headed up by CEO Richard Pursey were inspired to take the stand against cyber bullying, trolling, grooming and predatory risks that the big social networks refuse to take themselves, and were encouraged further by feedback from parents crying out for technology like this to ensure their children were protected online.
HEATH WALLACE
Founded in 2001, Reading’s HeathWallace has grown into a global agency delivering engaging digital experiences for some of the largest global brands. Becoming part of the WPP Group in 2008, the expanding team continues to expand with a network including the US, Hong Kong and Australia. HeathWallace has evolved to not only to be able to deliver enterprise global web projects at scale, but also turn its hand whatever the recent technology is, such as VR, AR, and even Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Here are just a few examples of some such inspiring businesses;
ConnectTVT was launched in June 2014 to highlight the Thames Valley on the tech and digital cluster maps. The 50 Game Changers is ConnectTVT’s way of demonstrating the wealth of innovative and fast growing young businesses in the Thames Valley market.
