The concept of photo realistic personalized 3D Avatars is not new. How our company has approached the business and the cutting edge technology behind it is.

In years past, the primary obstacles were the return on the technological investment; that the technology created would ultimately prove inflexible; that the end result would be poor quality; or that the personalized avatar creation process would take too much time given today’s consumers need for instant gratification.

Our technology began with the taking of tens of thousands of high-res laser scans of real people, across all ages, genders and ethnic backgrounds.

This is the reference geometry our neural nets are trained.

In addition to laser scans, photos of the same people, taken at a range of angles, varying quality cameras and lighting conditions, enabled us to generate a neural net link between your photo and the pieces & parts of the 3-D face geometries in our database of tens of thousands of real person laser scans

On account of skull shape geometry being different between children (pre-puberty) and adults, we have a separate trained neural net for this purpose. Children can now see themselves within interactive games, media content, books and augmented reality applications alongside stories and characters they identify with.
