• SMIL stands for Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (pronounced “smile”)
• Supported by the MMS standard• A SMIL “presentation” can be a mix of audio, video, images
and text in any combination• Allows you to change layout (e.g., landscape, portrait), set
timing of the objects and format the text
