The unique step-core design combined with the built in Hi-K stress control and silicone sealing compounds means simpler installation on all types of cable. The QT-III termination provides long-term reliability through an improved silicone rubber body with enhanced hydrophobic recovery, UV stability and track and erosion resistance. Plus its Hi-K stress control design delivers excellent BIL performance and lower surface stress resulting in a more compact termination. 3MTM Sheath Seal Kits 5831 and 5832 are designed to seal the sheath area for multiconductor cables with or without ground wires. They will handle copper or aluminum cables from #2 AWG through 500 kcmil (35-250 mm2). For kit contents and sizing, see chart below. Each kit makes one seal.

Designed to protect the phase legs (core) of 3/C shielded power cable from exposure to moisture, corrosion, ozone, ultra-violet radiation, physical contact and other hazards associated with termination operating environments. Rejacketing sleeves are designed to be used in conjunction with 3MTM Cold Shrink Breakout Boots and 3MTM Silicone Rubber Terminations.

3MTM Cold Shrink Terminations 7672-S-8 Series QT-III are designed for use on 69kV or 72,5kV polymetric power cable. Because they are cold shrink, installers do not need to use a torch, and they are easy to install. The silicone insulator also makes them light weight, so there is no need for a crane. Each kit includes instructions for Jacketed Concentric Neutral (JCN), Tape Shield (TS), Longitudinally Corrugated (LC), Tape over Wire (TOW) and Wire over Tape (WOT) cable constructions. The kits are packaged 1 termination per kit. Lugs must be purchased separately.

No special tools, torch or power source is needed. All splices are easily re-enterable for inspections and motor replacement.

3M™ Motor Lead Pigtail or V-Stub Splice 5380 Series for 5 and 8 kV Shielded and Non-Shielded Cables 3MTM Motor Lead Splicing Kits 5380 Series are a series of kits designed for splicing motor lead cables to incoming feeder cables. These kits are removable and reusable. These kits can accommodate pigtail (stub) connections, 5/8 kV shielded and non-shielded feeders.The splice’s main component, the lug or splice cover, is made from EPDM rubber as a slip-on insulator. Mastic is used for the moisture seal on the pigtail kits. The kits utilize a high dielectric constant (K) stress control termination for the feeder cable’s electrical stress control.These kits are designed to be used with copper compression lugs. Each kit contains all the necessary materials (except lugs) needed to make three splices. The lugs must be purchased separately. 3MTM ScotchlokTM Copper Compression Lugs 30000 Series, or other UL listed copper lugs, can be used.

CONSTRUCTION 3M™ Self-regulating Heat Tracing Cables consist of two parallel, current-transmitting copper conductors, between which a semi-conducting heating element is embedded.

The current flows between the two copper conductors. This provides an infinite number of parallel resistances. Therefore the Heat Tracing Cable can be cut to any desired length without changing its properties.

In accordance with VDE 0100, the copper mesh serves as a safety conductor and provides a continuous ground path.

The outer protective jacket of polyolefin or fluoropolymer protects against corrosion, chemicals, and adverse environmental conditions.
