Statement of need: Due to the depth and complexity of new therapies and technological advances in the field of cardiovascular medicine it is difficult for busy practitioners to remain current in their practice. This one-day program will address the rapidly evolving discipline of cardiovascular medicine and present up-to-date information on the latest therapeutics and offer a comprehensive review of new cutting edge advances in technologies to positively impact care to patients in everyday practice. Topics to be addressed will include therapeutic advances in ischemic heart disease, trans-aortic valve replacement as an option, dyslipidemia and management of heart failure and atrial fibrillation patients. In addition, the program will address the latest data in research and clinical trials in several subspecialties. Through lectures, panel discussions and Q&A participants will improve their knowledge and be better address and fill the gaps in their current practice.
Program objectives: All Northwell Health CME activities are intended to improve patient care, safety and outcomes. At the conclusion of this conference participants should be able to:
– Incorporate updated AHA and ACC guidelines into the care of your patients presenting with ischemic heart disease, heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, dyslipidemia, and other cardiac conditions.
– Analyze quality metrics and performance data to determine which therapies translate best into real world clinical practice.
– Evaluate new treatments and technologies in cardiovascular medicine and provide clinical scenarios on how to incorporate them into everyday clinical practice.
– Summarize the latest clinical trials and research that have rapidly advanced therapeutics and mechanical procedures for common cardiovascular diseases.
Target audience: MDs, PAs, NPs, RNs, Pharmacists, Technologists, General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Family Practice.
CME accreditation: Northwell Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit designation: Northwell Health designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
