MEMORANDUM REGARDING ALTIUS PROPERTY VISIT LICENSE 012530M, MINT BROOK PROPERTY Visited By: Andrea Devereaux (Geologist), Paul Crocker (Prospector) & Jessica Ivany (Student Geologist) Date Visited: May 22nd, 2009
INTRODUCTION Walter Sweetapple, a Newfoundland prospector, holds title to 9 claims in the community of Gambo, Newfoundland (NTS 02D/09). The property is located approximately one kilometer west of the Trans Canada Highway along a woods road. Anomalous gold (up to 15 g/t Au) and copper (>1% Cu) was identified in a quarry located immediately off this woods road. The property is located in the Lower Cambrian to Tremadoc (~520 – 480 Ma) Gander Zone which consists of polydeformed metasedimentary rocks of continental slope origin. More specifically, the Mint Brook property lies within the Cambro‐Ordovician Jonathans Pond Formation of the Gander Lake Subzone which is structurally bound by the GRUB Line in the west and the Dover Fault in the east – both of which are regional fault systems. The area is within a high strain area and evidence of ductile deformation is obvious within the pelites and semipelites at the showing (third generation folds and high strain foliations). Altius personnel, consisting of a prospector, a geologist and a student geologist, visted the site and collected samples for the purpose of assessing the property for possible option. The following tables provide a list of contractors, personnel and a statement of expenditures associated with this property visit.

MINERAL HOLDINGS The Mint Brook property (License 012530M) is comprised of 9 claims in the Gambo area (NTS map sheet 02D/09). First year work consisted of prospecting and rock sampling; second year work consisted of soil and rock sampling. Expenditures are not due on this license until September 22nd, 2014. HISTORY AND PREVIOUS WORK Previous exploration work has been minimal in the area of the Mint Brook property. There are numerous reports of quarry‐potential investigations in the area and the showing itself is within a quarry (Discovery Pit – Plate 01) that was used for a number of years. With the exception of the rock and soil sampling that has been completed by the current license holders, there is no other record of mineral exploration activity in the claim area. The following is a summary of the work completed on the Mint Brook Property by the current license holders:
In April, 2007, four rock samples were collected and analyzed from Discovery Pit, each with anomalous results. Two samples assayed >1% Cu (with 159 and 199 ppb Au) and the other two samples returned anomalous gold (0.9 g/t and 15.4 g/t Au).
In October, 2007, a follow‐up soil sampling program (n=100) was completed. Three samples returned values greater than the detection limit of 5 ppb Au (170, 214 and 290 ppb Au) and two samples had Cu values >20ppm (31 ppm and 68 ppm).
In December, 2007, a further eight rock samples were collected from Discovery Pit. Six of these returned Au values >100 ppb (152, 249, 341, 560, 813 and 1209 ppb); all Cu values were <150 ppm.
In March, 2009, another eight samples were collected and analyzed. Four of these samples returned Au values greater than 100 ppb (134 ppb, 191 ppb, 257 ppb and 699 ppb) and two other samples returned anomalous Cu (761 ppm and 1,328 ppb).

GEOLOGY Regional Geology The island of Newfoundland presents a cross‐section of the northern portion of the Appalachian Orogen. Four major tectonostratigraphic zones, based upon pre‐Carboniferous geology, have been identified and named (from west to east) the Humber, Dunnage, Gander and Avalon zones. These zones record the opening and closing of the Iapetus Ocean during the late Precambrian and early Paleozoic (Williams, 1979). The Gander Zone is comprised of a sequence of Lower Cambrian to Tremadoc (~520 – 480 Ma) (van Staal, 2007) polydeformed metasedimentary rocks (quartzite, psammites and pelites) of continental slope origin and variably deformed, post Ordovician, granitic to gabbroic plutons. The Gander Zone is separated from the rocks of the Avalon Zone to the east by the Dover‐Hermitage Bay Fault and from the Dunnage Zone in the west by the GRUB Line (or Gander River Complex). The Gander Zone is divided into three subzones: the Gander Lake Subzone, the Mount Cormack Subzone and the Meelpaeg Subzone. The Mint Brook property is located within the Gander Lake Subzone.
Local Geology The rock units of the Mint Brook property consist of interbedded psammite, semipelite and pelite of the Jonathon’s Pond Formation. The showing is located within a high strain region (O’Brien et al., 1991) and accordingly, pelites and semipelites display a strong, pervasive, tectonic foliation with preservation of up to F3 folds. Psammite is greenish‐grey (grey‐weathering), fine to medium grained, calc silicate rich (locally forming

pods and vein‐like structures) (Plate 02) and is in sharp contact with pelite and semipelite within the quarry. Pelites and semipelites preserve evidence of ductile deformation better than the psammites and exhibit significant folding, chlorite‐grade metamorphism, a schistose appearance and variably deformed quartz and carbonate veins and pod‐like structures (Plate 03). OBSERVATIONS AND WORK COMPLETED The license holders had sampled numerous fault zones within the quarry on the basis of the pyrite (+/‐ chalcopyrite) mineralization within the gouge material and identified anomalous gold and copper. Fault zones are near vertical with gouge development ranging from 1 – 2 cm thick to greater than 10 cm thick. Mineralization ranges from <1% to >5% locally. As previous rock sampling had focused on mineralized fault zones, assays of host rock had not been obtained, and thus it was unknown if the country rock (away from faults) was anomalous as well. A total of 12 rock samples (chip and grab) consisting of host rock as well as the mineralized gouge material were collected during the visit. The fault zone which had assayed 15 g/t Au was also re‐sampled. Rock samples were shipped to Eastern Analytical in Springdale, NL for analysis for Au by Fire Assay and ICP30.
A list of samples collected and the associated assay certificate is included with this report as Appendices 1 and 2 respectively.

RESULTS Rock sampling by Altius Resources Inc. at Mint Brook confirmed the anomalous gold values reported by the license holders. Altius sample, R2916, assayed 18.6 g/t Au in a pyritized fault zone which had previously assayed 15.4 g/t (plate 04). This fault zone has well developed gouge material that hosts significant, fine to coarse grained, cubic pyrite mineralization (1 – 5%). Samples R2917 and R2918 were also taken from pyritized fault zones and returned anomalous gold values (269 ppb and 811 ppb respectively). The highest Cu assay was from sample R2707 with 116 ppm Cu. The remaining samples were below the detection limit of 5 ppb for Au.
DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS While further rock sampling by Altius personnel confirmed the anomalous gold at Mint Brook, the true extent of the mineralization has yet to be determined. From the very limited work that has been completed on the property, gold mineralization appears to be associated with pyrite in fault zones. Significant pyrite mineralization is present within the gouge material of some fault zones but it is minimal (trace to <1%) outside these zones.
The Discovery Pit Showing in combination with the structurally complex tectonostratigraphic setting of the property and the fact that the area is greatly underexplored suggests that there is potential in the area and that follow‐up work is warranted.

Further exploration should include prospecting and geological mapping. Since it has been determined that gold is associated with pyrite mineralization within the fault zones, a mapping program to trace and sample these faults would help define the extent of mineralization. Additionally, a review of the 2007 soil sampling program is recommended. While the majority of the samples returned gold levels below the detection limit, there were three samples with gold values between 150 ppb and 300 ppb. An orientation survey is recommended to determine which soil horizon is best to sample for this area and this style of mineralization.
