3. It is the goal for all students to leave with a direction
and a skill level that will allow a successful transition to
community life. Some students need an extended period of time to
develop these skills as well as a familiar supportive environment
Developing work skills in a realistic environment within the school
district allows students to develop basic job skills and behaviors
needed to transition outside of school

5. Key Component Without Transportation we had no way for the
students to get to Village and Home Transportation has been
provided for all students. Currently all students go home on a bus
specifically for them In the past we have utilized Village School
buses with elementary school students

attendance to explain the program and answer parents questions We
encourage them to share information to better assist us in making
this a successful program to meet their goals. We have begun to use

25. ESY Program Extended School Year program involves students
expanding their skills to more community based instruction -Grocery

26. Through our connections within the Community we have
received a variety of Donations. The Holmdel Kiwanis donated our
STRIVE Uniforms, that we still use. In addition we have received
monetary donations from an individual who truly believes in our
program and the service we are providing to our students. We are
always looking for Community Members to provide us with
opportunities for our students in the future. Marshalls We welcome
input from staff and parents to help improve our program.
27. ADDING TIER II Veteran STRIVE students can apply for
leadership positions These positions involve orienting, training
and mentoring new STRIVE students Once a student has been in the
Tier II level for one year they are responsible to encourage Tier I
students to request an interview to enter the Tier II level The
Tier II students conduct the interviews Tier II students engage in
leadership self-evaluation A leadership level allows students
opportunities to strengthen self-determination
28. GUIDING QUESTIONS FOR TIER II INTERVIEW What is a leader?
