Adams County 4-H is Looking For Your Help WI 4-H is 100 years old in 2014! In recognition of this wonderful milestone WI 4-H is unveiling a WI 4-
H Hall of Fame. 100 4-H volunteers, 4-H pioneers, external collaborating organizations and businesses,
community leaders, and or retired Cooperative Extension staff will be included in this opportunity with
a big celebration to recognize these individuals in the Fall of 2014. Clubs and individuals are encour-
aged to submit their nominations, using the 4-H Hall of Fame nomination form, to the UW-Extension
Office by April 14th. Please help WI 4-H celebrate all that is great with 4-H by nominating a deserving 4
-H person, external collaborating organization/business, or yourself! Below is the link to the descrip-
tors and the nomination forms. Thank you for all of your hard work. Nominations will be reviewed by
the Adams County 4-H Awards Committee at 4:30pm on April 15th at the Awards Committee Meet-
ing. Each county is eligible to select one recipient to be included in the first 100 honorees; addition-
ally, any group or individual eligible to submit a nomination for consideration for the balance of the
initial 100 honorees.

Please join us in celebrating the impact Wisconsin 4-H’ers have on their communities during April
2014. As part of the Wisconsin 4-H Centennial celebration, we want to highlight the thousands of
hours Wisconsin 4-H youth and volunteers give in local and statewide service. If your 4-H group has a
service activity planned for April, or completed a community service activity in the last 12 months, fill
out this a service month form and send a few pictures to [email protected] or chris-
[email protected] for a chance to be featured on the Centennial website and the Wiscon-

NEW Adams County Fair Updates!
New 2014-2015 Fair Books are available!
Fair time is fast approaching! All fair entry forms need to
be in to the Adams County UW Extension office by May 1st
before 4:30 PM. The new May 1st due date is to accom-
All our fair books and forms which include the Jr. Fair Book and forms, and the Open Class fair book and forms were dis-
tributed to the club organizational leaders at the March 17th Leaders Association meeting. Please contact your club
leader for your 4-H family fair book. These new Fair books are good for two (2) years, if you need additional copies or
need a replacement copy there will be a charge of $3.19/ea.

May 17th - Assemble a rocket! – Youth Leaders Project & Thrifty Pals 4-H
Club
On May 17th from 9 - Noon, at the Adams County Fairgrounds. Bring your
favorite Rocket kit. We will help everyone get their rockets built and you
will be able to launch them as part of 4-H’s program on June 21st, and take

Day at the Capital
The 4-H Wisconsin Day at the Capital was a great success, celebrating 100 years With over 800 in attendance it was
a 4-H Celebration for sure, and Helen & Conar Casper were there as well. Read more about this great day on our 4-

Royal Wranglers Chosen to Participate!
Emma Jackson and Mikaila Falash, both members of the Royal
Wranglers have been chosen to participate in the Midwest Horse
Fair Fashion event in Madison at the Alliant Energy Center. Tack
fashion will be at 2PM on April 11 and 12th at the Nutrena Arena.
Hope to see all the horse lovers at the show!

Dog Practice
Dog practice will be on Tuesday,
June 10th from 6 - 7PM at the
Adams County Fairgrounds. This
class will continue every Tuesday
night until the fair. Classes are
sponsored by Arkdale Kings & Queens Club.

Coggins Testing
On April 4th, 2014 at the Adams County Fairgrounds Dr. Miotke from New Horizons Vet Clinic will be there to do Coggins
for any club 4-H members at a cost of $24.00/animal. Please notify Laurie Falash at [email protected] or post a
comment on the Adams county Horse & Pony FB page.
Times will be posted when we see how many horses we have. Dr. Miotke will also answer any horse health questions
one might have.
Youth must be enrolled in Adams County 4-H by April 15th to represent 4-H at the Adams County
Fair. Youth may add or delete projects until April 15th of the current 4-H year for fair projects. 4-H mem-bers may choose to enter items related to their 4-H projects. Such as bringing projects in other departments
they may not be enrolled in.

intent by May 1st to the Adams County IPC Committee (Extension office), noting where they would like to go & what year.
At that time they must join the Adams County IPC & begin fundraising.

Voting membership in this Association shall be open for participation to any adult 4-H leader who is an enrolled leader and has completed the Youth Protection Process. Voting membership is also open to youth enrolled in the Youth Leadership project, 6th grade and above. Membership eligibil-ity is affirmed by October 1st enrollment documentation turned into the Extension Office. The As-sociation agrees that membership or participation in 4-H will follow the Wisconsin 4-H Youth De-velopment Policies (2)* to be changed when the State amends their guidelines.
The PRESIDENT shall preside at Association meetings. Presidential duties shall include the drafting and
carrying out of Executive & Association agendas in a smooth and orderly fashion. The president shall be
the principal officer representing the Association in matters concerning Association business. The presi-
dent shall be elected to a two (2) year term and will continue to serve until a successor is elected.
The SECRETARY shall keep all minutes of the Leaders Association and Executive Board meetings. The sec-retary shall provide a copy of the minutes to the President and 4-H Youth Development Educator at the Extension office where they will be kept on file. The secretary shall handle correspondence of the Asso-ciation as instructed by the presiding officer. The secretary shall be elected to a two (2) year term and will continue until a successor is elected. The TREASURER shall receive and take care of all monies belonging to the Association and shall pay all bills upon order of the Executive Board & Association and shall keep an accurate record of all monies received and paid, and give reports of all transactions at all Executive Board & Association meetings. The treasurer shall be elected to a two (2) year term and will continue to serve until a successor is elected. The DIRECTORS shall have the responsibility to represent and inform leaders about the program and ac-tivities of the Leaders’ Association, solicit and provide input from leaders to the 4-H Executive Board, chair or assist committees, represent the Leaders’ Association in event planning. There shall be 5 directors on the Executive Board. The directors shall be elected to a two (2) year term and will continue to serve until a successor is elected.
The YOUTH DIRECTOR(S) shall have the duty of liaison between the county Leaders’ Association and all other youth leaders in the county 4-H program and shall advise on youth events. These representatives shall be appointed & confirmed every year by Association members.

UW-Madison Saddle & Sirloin Club annually hosts the
Badger Bonanza Lamb Show, which draws in youth and
their lambs from Wisconsin and the surrounding states.
This show provides area youth a chance to get their lambs
into the show ring early in the season.
