4. How did you use new media technologies in the research and

planning, construction and evaluation stages?

ResearchResearchDuring the research for our project we used a lot of different website on the internet. To find the copyright free music we used (http://www.unsigned.com/aidaband), we also used the search engine Google (http://www.google.co.uk) to try and find some sites belonging to our artists, which we weren’t able to find. During some research I discovered that the woman within the group we had chosen had gotten married, after I begin searching for sites with her name I got some more results from places such as Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/aidaband) and Reverbnation (http://www.reverbnation.com/jennkrahn). We also used their Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/aida462).

PlanningPlanningDuring the planning stage we needed to download the song and create the storyboard and animatic. Within our group we had already decided on where we going to film, and that Hayley would be the singer in the video. I got in contact with the band via email, she replied and attached the song in the email which I then downloaded.

We made a survey early on to find out how an why people watch music videos, again using http://surveymonkey.com/, we then sent it out to people using http://facebook.com. We made a storyboard of what we wanted the video to look like, we then took those pictures and made an animatic on the iMac’s using the program Final Cut Express.

ConstructionConstruction

In this stage we filmed and edited our project. To film our project we used HD Digital Video Cameras and to take pictures we used still Digital Cameras. To edit the footage we had filmed we again used Final Cut Express on the iMac’s. We played the song when filming in order to get the lip syncing perfect, in order to do this we transferred the song from iTunes to Hayley’s iPod. To play the song out load we used a number of different speakers, but one we used is the X-Mini Speaker Ball.

ConclusionConclusion

We used a number of technologies to complete our project.

• Unsigned- This was used to find our song.

•Gmail- This was used to contact the artist we had chosen.

•Survey Monkey- Used to make survey’s for audience feedback.

•Facebook- Used to send out the survey’s we made.

•iMac- Used for research, planning and construction.

•iPod- Used to play the song during the construction.

•Camera- This was used in the construction stage
