Powerful, playful ways to spend your days! Name each school day after a specific focus on learning. For this example, a week in September becomes the different parts of speech: Noun Monday, Verb Tuesday, Adjective Wednesday, Adverb Thursday, and Preposition Friday. Today is Verb Tuesday! Each child has a marker and a blank label adhered to one of the Discovering Dinosaurs ™ Tracks Classic Accents ® . The adventure begins with everyone exploring dinosaur-related verbs and writing one on the blank label. Then kids read their verbs aloud to the class. Feature several verbs on the calendar display. At the end of the day, take the verbs down and put them aside, leaving space for Adjective Wednesday. At the end of the week, divide the class into two teams. Hand each group an equal stack of dinosaur tracks with the parts of speech featured that week. Time the activity, having each team form simple sentences using as many of the words as possible. Read the sentences, rewarding the team with the most complete sentences with dinosaur accents or stickers. Next week, focus on math: Addition Monday, Subtraction Tuesday, Place Value Wednesday, Money Thursday, and Time Friday. Countless ways to spend your days!
