The Man-Sask Gelbvieh Association is pleased to present the 14th Sweetheart Gelbvieh Classic, a people’s choicefemale futurity to be part of the Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh Show in November 2012.The Sweetheart Classic is open to any age of Gelbvieh female entered in the regular Canadian Western AgribitionGelbvieh Show. There will be two bred females and two open heifer calves in the final. Futurity members mayenter their females till the day before the show. The futurity entry fee is $100.00 per head, with a maximum of two(2) entries per membership.

Memberships to the futurity will be sold for $300.00 which entitles the member to judge (one ballot) theSweetheart Classic and to receive a limited edition jacket. Members will also be entered into a draw to win theproceeds from the sale of the Sweetheart Classic Champion. Members must be present to vote. No proxyvote allowed.

The people’s choice judging of the Sweetheart Classic will take place immediately following the Gelbvieh Bull Show.The Female Gelbvieh Show will commence upon the completion of this portion of the futurity. At the end of theGelbvieh Female show, the top four (4) females as selected by the futurity members will be announced in randomorder. The following day, at the Canadian Western Agribition Sale, the final four (4) Sweetheart finalists will bejudged during the Presale Reception. The Sweetheart Classic Champion will be announced and then auctioned offas the feature lot.

Miss Mark 5Z is one of the deepest bodied heifer calves you will find. One has to admire the softness that this heifer shows; she is extremely big ribbed and thick. Iron Horse has left behind a solid set of progeny at Nelson Gelbvieh and DDN 113Y is your chance to own one of the best. Her flawless dam DDN 332N is a picture perfect, maternal based female with a great udder. DDN 332N is a full sister to DDN Bronco Billy 470P who was a main herd sire at Valley Gelbvieh.Exposed to RWG Fed-X 0411 from April 1 to May 29, 2012; he will be on display at Agribition.

This female comes from a long line of National Champions; her dam, 220U, was National Champion in 2010; her grand sire, SLC Merv, was National Champion in 2005 and her grand dam, 272K was National Champion in 2003 along with her great grand sire, SLC Freedom, as Denver National Champion in 1999. Last fall, her half sister, 220U’s first calf, Parkland 145X was Junior Champion at the National Show and was selected by Four Square Gelbvieh as Pick of the Barn.Her dam, 220U, was sold in Severtson Top Cut Female Sale, $16,000 for half interest to V & V Farms in 2010 and her sire sold in SLC 2010 Bull Sale for $16,000 to V & V Farms. He was injured, so this will be one of the only chances to get a daughter by him. Sells bred to SLC Rio Grande 56U from June 30 to August 30, 2012, a dark red Merv son. His fi rst sons averaged $5700 in the SLC Bull Sale last spring.
