In 1945, Joseph Cyril Bamford started the company

that bears his initials from a garage measuring 12 by

15 feet. Today, JCB is still a family-run business but

now employs over 8,000 people and sells machines

in over 150 countries. We also boast some of the

finest engineering facilities in the world, located on

four different continents. This includes our latest

multi-million pound investment, a totally new,

state-of-the-art factory in the UK where we

manufacture the range of Dieselmax engines and

generators powered by the JCB Dieselmax engine.

When we developed our generators, we benefited

from a ‘clean sheet of paper’ design which meant

we could take the best from the rest, combined

with all the latest technological advances. The result

is a comprehensive range of products that set new

standards of performance and reliability.

The standard range covers 18 power nodes from

15 to 500kVA and is split into three types: 18 open

generators, 18 canopy generators and 8 rental

models. Generators can be made to order so you

can specify exactly the specification you need. For

sizes up to 3000kVA bespoke builds are possible as

either open or containerised units. All power nodes

are available as 50Hz or 60Hz* in any configuration.

CONTENTSAs you would expect from a company with a world-

class reputation, the build quality is superb, with each

generator boasting the highest quality components,

alternator and engines. A digital control panel as

standard (optional on many competitor generators)

lets you programme the system to meet your

own engine monitoring and power monitoring

requirements, whilst remote monitoring is available

as an option through GPS technology. And of course

it’s all backed up by the best customer support in

the business.

Open and canopy generators

Our open generators are ideal for use in operations

where noise is not an issue or the generator will

be housed in its own building or power room.

Our standard canopied units up to 500kVA are

manufactured from galvanised sheet steel and

polyester powder coated, making them completely

weatherproof and perfect for outdoor use in the

harshest site conditions. Thanks to industry leading

sound levels, they are also the answer where noise

is an issue. Larger units are housed in fully weather-

proofed ISO containers.

When it comes to the diesel engines at the heart

of these products, we have identified the best

performers for each generator size, all compliant

with the latest stage 2 emissions requirements for

Europe. So you’ll find that the smallest generators use

Deutz diesel engines, followed by JCB Dieselmax,

Sisu and Scania engines in our larger models. Plus,

the whole range benefits from Newage Stamford

alternators – recognised throughout the industry as

the world’s number one.

As well as the finest power packs in the business,

what sets us apart are the features we give you as

standard. The best example is the digital control

panel; a costly option on many competitor machines

but included on every JCB generator no matter

what size. This clever piece of equipment can be fully

programmed to meet your exact needs and includes

the following standard functions: 250 events history,

low oil pressure shut down, high coolant

temperature shutdown, under speed shutdown,

overspeed shutdown, low battery warning and the

ability to add many more functions.

Available as 1 or 3 phase, 50 or 60Hz and with

various voltage options, all models are suitable for

working as prime or standby, and specific options

let you tailor each model to the application in hand.

These include: single point lift, fork pockets, 8- or

24-hour bunded fuel tanks (canopy only), 120V or

240V water heater, Automatic Mains Failure panel,

Automatic Transfer Panel and synchronising capability

with mains or other generators, electronic fuel

governor (15 to 200kVA models), manual 3-way

fuel valves and a road trailer . . . to name but a few.

The 8-strong rental range of JCB generators is

available in the following sizes: 20, 30, 50, 60, 80,

110, 160 and 200kVA. Although of course if you

require a rental specification on any other size model

we will be happy to deal with your requirements as

part of our bespoke service.

Every model features the same superior build quality

and engines as the products in our open and canopy

ranges, as well as all the standard features, including

the digital control panel which offers effective engine

and power monitoring with no need to rely on

manual monitoring prone to human error. But what

makes these generators different is the wide variety

of electrical connection points and options that we

also fit as standard to increase the versatility of the

units and give higher machine utilisation.

These include:

you a longer running time

● Fully bunded to 110% of all f luids, preventing any

loss of fluid to the ground and ensuring

contamination-free running, including bund

sensor and hand pump

● Integrated fork pockets for increased handling

capability on site

● Single point lift for easy loading and off loading

of vehicles and placement into difficult locations

● Bulkhead fitted between rear of alternator and

control panel for reduced sound levels when

opening the panel doors

● Fuel tank fitted with inspection cleaning hatches

● Racor pre-fuel filter and water trap to ensure

trouble-free running in the event of dirty fuel

entering the system

● 3-way fuel valve allowing for external fuel supply

● Separate hours-run meter for instant reference

● Battery isolator switch to prevent unwanted

battery drain

● Variable earth leakage protection for

operator safety

● Busbar on all models for quick and easy

connection of cables

● 4-pole isolator for added safety

● Multiple electric sockets all with individual circuit

breakers for convenience and safety
