Application of Weiser-Brown Oil Company. for Establishment of an ExploratoryDrilling Unit consisting of the of the South Half of the Northeast Quarter and theNorth Half of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 3 and the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarterand the North Half of the North Half of the West Half of the Northwest Quarter ofthe Southwest Quarter of Section 2, all in Township 15 South, Range 19 West,Ouachita County, Arkansas.

Weiser-Brown Oil Company, P.O. Box 500, Magnolia, AR 71753, hereby applies to theArkansas Oil and Gas Commission for the establishment of an exploratory drilling unitand for the integration of all unleased mineral interests in its proposed drilling unit whichis described above.

1. The proposed drilling unit is in a laydown configuration and contains 115 acres,more or less The proposed drilling unit is not within the confines of any existing oil orgas field, nor is it an extension thereto. The proposed drilling unit is prospective of oiland/or gas, since the geological data available to applicant indicates that there is areasonable possibility that an oil and gas well drilled therein would recover oil and/orgas in paying quantities. Persons who own at least an undivided 50% interest in theright to drill and produce oil and/or gas from the total proposed unit area have agreed tothe formation of such exploratory unit. Applicant proposes to drill a well at a locationwhich is greater than 280 feet from all boundries of the above-described unit. The wellwill be drilled to a total vertical depth of 4,900 feet to test the Smackover Limestone formation.

2. Applicant states that it is in the best interest of conservation and the protection ofcorrelative rights of all interested parties that the proposed unit be developed for oil and

gas production without undue delay.

3. Applicant requests that the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission set this matter forpublic hearing, and after same, issue its order, that the South Half of the NortheastQuarter and the North Half of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the SoutheastQuarter of Section 3 and the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of the NorthwestQuarter and the North Half of the North Half of the West Half of the Northwest Quarterof the Southwest Quarter of Section 2, all in Township 15 South, Range 19 West,Ouachita County, Arkansas, be established as an exploratory drilling unit.

4. The names and addresses of parties interested in this proceeding are set forth inExhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
