Dear Members and Guests:
It is my distinct honor to welcome all of you to our 42nd Annual World Hunting Expo and Banquet. Throughout the years, the Minnesota Chapter of Safari Club International has taken a lead role in protecting the rights of hunters in Minnesota. While there are many conservation organizations that also support hunting, Minnesota SCI is unique in that the support and protection of hunters’ rights is our primary focus. It doesn't matter if you are a small-game hunter, bird hunter, or an international big-game hunter; our goal is to protect and expand the rights of all hunters, now and for future generations.
It is through your participation tonight that Minnesota SCI is able to fund its missions and programs. Whether through our legislative work or our educational and humanitarian projects, we continually strive to promote hunters and hunting as a positive and integral part of sustainable conservation practices.
As hunters, we are a minority. It’s our responsibility to educate and inform the public about who we really are – the true stewards of wildlife and wild places. It’s only by creating and maintaining a positive public image for ourselves as hunters that we can protect our sport for generations to come. Minnesota SCI strives to be the face of Minnesota’s hunters.
Please bid early and often on the silent and live auctions and buy some raffle tickets! Tonight is one of the few times when you can treat yourself and help protect hunting at the same time. The Table of 10 Raffle is a long time Minnesota SCI tradition that gives you and the rest of the people at
your table the chance to win big!
Here is how it works:
Tickets are $100. Normally, each person at the table pitches in $10 and table buys one ticket. But there’s no reason your table can’t buy more than one ticket!
One winner will be drawn. The winning ticket will win 10 of the same prize, one for each person at the table!
This year’s prize is ten (10) cases of wine, hand selected for us by Dan Immel of PRP Wine International. Each person at the winning table will receive a case of wine that includes the following selections:

Rules of the Auction
1. The auctioneer has the final authority in determining the final bid of an item.
2. In some cases, two items may be offered for sale. If that is the case, the top two bidders will each be offered the item at the highest bid price.
3. The successful high bidder agrees to pay the amount bid for that item following the sale on the night of the auction. Payment may be made by cash, personal check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. A 3% convenience fee will be added to all Live Auction transactions paid for via credit card.
4. A Purchased Hunt / Merchandise Agreement will be brought to the winning bidder listing the hunt or item and the bid/purchase price. If the winning bidder is not a current SCI member, a one-year membership (Minnesota Chapter dues & National dues) will be added to the bid price. All sales must be finalized the evening of the auction.
5. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds. Bidders, who plan to substitute or change hunt dates, change hunted species, or any other hunt detail, should make prior arrangements with the donor.
Special notes to remember: African Hunts: If you’re interested in bidding on an African Safari and are
unfamiliar with the daily fee/trophy fee system outfitters use, please talk to an SCI member who has been there or one of the outfitters prior to the auction to make sure you understand what is and what is NOT included in the donation. As always, all sales are final.
All Hunts: Unless otherwise stated, assume that the license/tag fees are
not included in the donations. Also, unless stated, it is the hunter’s responsibility to apply for and secure licenses, confirm dates with the outfitter and take the hunt/trip for the time period listed in the description of the donation on the auction bill.
Minnesota SCI offers no warranty for the quality of trips, hunts, or merchandise purchased at live or silent auctions or awarded by drawing and cannot guarantee the satisfaction of the buyer, prize winner, or donor. We do our best to offer quality donations.

Kuvhima Safaris is offering 12 days with 10 days of hunting in the Limpopo Province of South Africa for two hunters. This includes the arrival and departure days. In addition, Kuvhima is providing a $3,000 credit towards trophy fees to be split between hunters. This credit can be used towards any trophy animals. Additional daily rates and trophy fees above those donated will be at per the current price list. Non-Hunters are welcome to be added at a special rate of $150 per day. Children under 13 years of age are welcome free of charge. Jacques Senekal of Africa Maximum Safaris, a long-time exhibitor and donor to MN SCI, has donated a 10 Day
hunt for two hunters and two non-hunters in South Africa that includes the trophy fees for one cape buffalo bull, one
sable, one kudu and two zebras. The hunting season is from 1st of March 2017 to the 31
st of December 2017. This
donation is for the duration of 10 days. The 10 hunting days will be on concessions of Africa Maximum Safaris in
the North West Province of South Africa. If trophies are taken early, client will not be required to suspend the
duration of days donated for hunting. The hunt may be upgraded, either extra hunters or observers at normal rates
(as per price list), extra trophies to be hunted, extra days booked either on hunting or touring, as client wishes to
tailor the package. Trophy animals donated: 1 x Cape Buffalo, 1 x Sable, 1 x Kudu and 2 Zebra. The second hunter
can upgrade and take a Cape Buffalo at a discounted price of $7,500 and Sable at $6,500. Included in the
donation is field preparation of trophies, dipping and shipping is not included in the donation. The arrival and
departure point will be Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. No permit drawing or lottery is required for
this hunt. All transportation during the hunt is included and all transportation is done by vehicle. This donation
excludes the arrival and departure days. Arrival and departure days are charged @ US $220 per person per day
excluding 14% tax. Weapons to be used: Rifle only - 375 caliber or bigger. 300 Grain ammunition or larger to be
used. The limitation on the ammunition is 200 rounds per gun. Alternative weapon to bring is a shotgun for bird
shooting. An export permit from the United States is required to bring any weapons in to South Africa. At South
African Customs the gun owner will supply necessary import permit on which a temporary firearm license will be
