INTRODUCTION
Globally, the health care sector is rife with inefficiencies, erratic quality, unequal access, and sky-high costs.
These are complex problems that call for innovative solutions.
Innovations in eHealth have been shown to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Africa’s health systems through patient tracking and reporting, as well as extend critically needed health services to underserved areas, found both in rural and urban African communities.
mHealth services have for example revolutionized maternal care, chronic disease prevention, and the management of malaria epidemics.
