HEALTH CONTROL

The Sho ppertron merch and iser is

eq uipped w ith an e lectronic health

control (required b y mos t sta te and

loca l hea lth a uthorities ). The hea lth

control prevents vending me rchan-

The merc ha ndiser w ill a utoma tically

go into an o ut-of-service mo de a nd

food will not be vend ed if either of

these two c onditions oc cur:

The tem pera ture of the refrige rated

ca binet will not fall to 45° F (7° C)

within 30 minutes a fter the doo r of the

refrigerated ca binet is c losed

The temp erature of the ca binet rises

ab ove 45° F (7° C) without the door of

the refrigerated ca binet having be en

open.

When hea lth co ntrol is trigge red, the

displa y w ill rea d “ TEMPOR ARY OUT

OF SERVICE” . When the moneta ry door is opened, the m ess ag e “HEALTH OFF”,

and the da te, time, and maximum cab inet temperature reac hed a re displayed . To re-

set the health control, the refrigerate d ca binet door must be opened a nd closed a ga in.

The out-of-s ervice co ndition usua lly oc curs a t initial se tup. Therefore, Na tional Ven-

dors recomme nds the merchand iser be ope rated with the refrigerated c ompa rtment

left empty until the temperature reaches a level low enough to sa tisfy the hea lth co n-

trol.

This mercha ndiser is supplied w ith a s ervice c ord for the country of use a nd is terminated

in a grounding type plug. The w all recepta cle used for this me rcha ndiser must be properly

polarized, g rounded , and of the correct voltage. Operating the mercha ndiser from aso urce of low vo ltage w illVOID YOUR WARRANTY . Each merchand iser should have its

ow n electrica l circuit and tha t circuit should be prote cte d w ith a c ircuit breaker or fuse

co nforming to loca l regulations.

Voltage Check - Place the leads of a voltmeter across the LINE (LIVE) and NEU-

TRAL termina ls of the w all rec epta cle. The voltmeter s hould indica te 110-130 volts a c

for 120 volt, 60 Hz loca tions, o r 220-240 volts a c fo r 230 volt, 50 Hz loc ations .

Polarity Check - Place the leads of a voltmeter across the LINE (LIVE) and GROUND

terminals of the wa ll recep ta cle. The voltmeter should indicate 110-130 volts a c for

120 volt, 60 Hz loca tions, o r 220-240 volts a c for 230 volt, 50 Hz loc ations .

Noise Potential Check - Plac e the lead s o f a voltmeter across the NEUTRAL and

G ROUND terminals of the wall recep tac le. The voltmeter should indica te 0 volts ac .

A mea sureme nt grea ter than 1.5-2.0 volts a c c ould result in problems fo r the

merchandiser's electronic circuitry ca used by electrica l noise.

Any deviation from thes e req uirements c ould result in unreliable performanc e from your

SECTION 3ROUTINE SERVICE AND SANITATION

Sa nitation is a n important phas e of mercha ndiser operation. The lack of proper service a nd

Sa nitizing proce ss es g enerally ac cepted by the health authority are as follow s:

1. Immersion for at least one-half minute in clean hot w ater at a temperature not lower than

170° F (77° C).

2. Immersion for a period o f at leas t one minute in a sa nitizing solution co ntaining:

a. At leas t 50 ppm of ava ilable chlorine at a temperature of not low er than 75° F (24° C );

or

b. At leas t 12.5 ppm of availab le iodine in a so lution having a pH not higher than 5.0 and

a tem perature not lowe r than 75° F (24° C ); or

c. Any other chemical-sanitizing a gent which has been proven to be effective and non-

toxic under usa ge c onditions, a nd for which a s uitab le field test is ava ilable.

The follow ing w arnings and ca utions are a pplica ble to the s ervice and sa nitation procedures
