With cab models, there’s a choice ofstandard height or lowered roofline and theoption of an opening front windscreen.

Platform models can be specified with down-swept exhaust and folding ROPS, helping toprotect valuable crop when working inorchards or olive groves.

Simple efficiency

From the moment you climb aboard, it’sobvious that this is a tractor that meansbusiness. Relatively light and agile, yet withplenty of power and torque from theSisuDiesel engines, MF 4400 Series tractorsoffer excellent performance and economy.

They’re easy to operate too; with large, well-placed levers and switches for convenientcontrol. No-frills instruments provide all vital

information, clearly and simply and when youlook ahead you’ll see that the slim instrumentconsole affords excellent visibility in front anddown into the furrow. Large rear view andinternal mirrors plus narrow cab pillars andthe side-mounted exhaust complete thepicture of excellent all-round visibility.

Tough and reliable

The SisuDiesel engines have also beendesigned to give many years of trouble-freeservice. Engine components are highlyspecified to meet the demands of the high-performance turbochargers, and features suchas mechanical fuel injection and wet cylinderliners with ‘mid cylinder support’ givedurability and, ultimately, easier and lessexpensive maintenance or repair.

Ingenious engine installation

MF 4400 Series tractors are built around acentral ‘H’ section frame.The engine ismounted at the front of the frame and thegearbox and transaxle are mounted at the rear.The frame also acts as the main fuel tank.

The SisuDiesel engines provideexcellent power and torquecharacteristics

The frame design has a number of significantadvantages, including:

• Excellent weight distribution and a lowcentre of gravity, giving improved weighttransfer and hillside stability.

For their size, MF 4400 Series tractors all have largecapacity engines. Combined with the long stroke design,this gives plenty of torque at low engine speed, with up to29% torque back-up, so even in difficult terrain or heavysoil conditions the tractors are easy to operate.

•The forward position of the engine alsoimproves weight distribution and tractorbalance, for improved operation with heavyrear-mounted equipment.

• Fast, ground level refuelling.

Simple, effective transmission and ‘driveline’

The 12 forward, 12 reversespeed, fully synchromeshtransmission has simplegear selection and featuresa mechanical shuttle andcreeper speeds as standard.

Creep to transport speeds

With ground speed coverage from 0.9 to 40 km/h, there is real flexibility to achieveoptimum performance and economy in thewidest range of applications, from demanding

field work to rapid transport. And with large,comfortable gear levers, selection of the fourspeeds and three ranges is positive andstraightforward.

Forward/reverse shuttle

Direction change is made by a lever mountedto the left of the seat, leaving the right handfree for steering, spool valve operation orother controls.

Mechanical control is standard with powerassisted operation available as an option on

4-wheel drive cab models. Ideal in frequentfront loader work, at the touch of a buttonon the gear or range lever, the clutch ispower-activated, so in most situations, thereis no need to operate the clutch manually.

When the mechanically assisted powershuttle is specified, a high specification digitalinstrument panel is also fitted, providingadditional tractor performance data.

2- or 4-wheel drive

All models are available with 2- or 4-wheeldrive.The heavy duty 4-wheel drive axleprovides all the familiar advantages ofsuperior traction and stability and hasexcellent load capacity, giving outstandingdurability - ideal for front loader fitment.

Tough linkage, versatile hydraulics and PTO

With either 2.9 or 3.3 tonnelift capacity and up to 55 litresof oil flow at high pressure,the MF 4400 Series is morethan a match for most day-to-day tasks.

Linkage and hydraulics

The rugged linkage, with its top link sensingdraft control system, provides exceptionalground contour following and traction for topquality work.

Control is really simple too, with simplemechanical levers providing fast, accuratelinkage adjustment.

Standard linkage and hydraulic systemspecification includes a swinging drawbar,heavy-duty, variable float telescopic stabilisersand two spool valves with joystick control.

Electronic Linkage Control (ELC)

For simplicity and even greater accuracy, ELCis available as an option.This also bringsadditional features, including Active TransportControl, which enables faster, safer transportof linkage-mounted equipment by reducingimplement bounce and pitching. Fender-mounted switches also provide convenientlinkage adjustment for fast, easy implementattachment.

High-power PTO

The simple PTO drive design incorporatesjust a single set of transfer gears between theengine and PTO shaft. So power losses arevery low, achieving maximum power at thePTO shaft.A choice of 540/540 Economy(750) rpm or 540/1000 rpm is available; bothwith simple, mechanical control by a lever tothe left of the instrument console.

Electro-hydraulic PTO engagement

Ideal for use in applications requiring frequentengagement and disengagement of the PTOor where the convenience of switch

operation is preferred, an electro-hydraulicPTO system is available.Activated by a ‘B’post-mounted switch, the system provideshydraulic operation of the existing mechanicalclutch, reducing fatigue and improvingproductivity in PTO work.

Easy to operate, with simple control layout

With easy access from both sides, the MF 4400 Series hasbeen designed to be spacious, comfortable and easy tooperate... at all times, in all conditions.

On cab models, there is a choice of Standardor Low Profile cab, centre or side exhaust,opening front windscreen and a range ofheating and ventilation options, including airconditioning.

Two wide-opening rear hinged doors makeaccess easy and, once inside, you’ll find that allof the controls are well positioned, withlarge, clearly identified levers and switches

performing all major functions with a highdegree of mechanical simplicity.

There is a choice of mechanical or airsuspension seats, both with a comprehensiverange of adjustments, including armrests andswivel.

With the optional air suspension seat, at thetouch of a lever, accurate adjustment to

compensate fordriver weight orterrain is achievedquickly, for maximumcomfort and safetyat all times.

Sharing many of the design features of the cab models, allMF 4400 Series models are also available in ‘platform’configuration, less cab but still maintaining a high level ofcomfort, safety and high productivity.

Meeting all current noise and safety legislationrequirements, the MF 4400 Series platformmodels are now available in most Europeanmarkets as well as countries moretraditionally associated with non-cab tractors.

Full instrumentation

The whole operator area is spacious anduncluttered, with all controls within easyreach.The instrument console houses acomprehensive range of instruments andwarning lights that are fully encased andsealed to keep out dust and moisture. The spacious platform, with

Comfort and safety

The spring suspension seat provides easyadjustment, good lower back and thighsupport, and has ribbed seat and backrestcushions to help provide natural ventilation.

– Housed within, or attached to a tough ‘H’section centre frame, components areunder less stress, so they last longer.

– The SisuDiesel engines are durable and haveexcellent access for routine servicing.

– The hydraulic system has an independent oilsupply, utilising the hydraulic lift cover as areservoir. So oil contamination is minimised,reducing servicing costs.

– The system also features an externallymounted gear pump and washable suctionfilter; again reducing costs.

– The engine oil dipstick, filler and disposablespin-on filter plus the fuel filter andsedimentor are all grouped on the ‘cool’side of the engine away from the hotexhaust pipe.

– Maintenance-free battery.
