Increasing the operational life of wells is is allways a challenge for oil well operators faced with ever-growing market demand.

With more than 20 years' experience in the crude oil extraction sector, Leroy-Somer has developed a range of high-power POWERDRIVE VSD, which are flexible, innovative and benefit from the latest technical developments. The POWERDRIVE can be used to control beam pumps, PCPs (Progressive Cavity Pumps), ESPs (Electrical Submersible Pumps) or injection pumps. Offering unrivalled modularity, the POWERDRIVE provide bespoke solutions to the various constraints involved in pumping. Leroy-Somer solutions open up new prospects of improving exploitation and increasing production from the oil fields.

Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs): customisation

Leroy-Somer has developed customized solutions based on the POWERDRIVE range to solve problems due to long cable lengths, quality of the signal seen by the submersible motor and also interference due to an increased number of drives on the same mains supply. Leroy-Somer offers control and motorisation of injection pumps as well as "step-down" and/or "step-up" transformers adapted for operation with a variable speed drive.
