Machine operation (scrubbing/drying) While keeping both hands on the handlebar, manoeuvre the machine and start scrubbing/drying the floor. If necessary, vary the solution quantity by using the lever (fig. H). To avoid damaging the floor surface, do not use the brushes without the solution and, when the machine is not operating, stop the brush/pad-holder (fig. D) by pressing the switch. Before lifting the brush/pad, turn it off by pressing the switch. Note: For correct scrubbing/drying of floors at the sides of the walls, it is recommended to go near the walls with the right side of the machine as shown below (fig. K). I J K Battery (battery model) Until the green warning light (fig. L) stays on, the batteries allow the machine to work normally. When the green warning light (fig. L) turns off and the yellow (fig. M) and red (fig. M) warning lights turn on in sequence, it is necessary to charge the battery as the machine residual autonomy is at the minimum level. Do not use the machine with discharged batteries, to avoid damaging the batteries and reducing the battery life. Charge the batteries when the yellow or red warning light (fig. M) turns on, or at the end of every working cycle. Keeping the batteries charged make their life last longer. When the batteries are discharged, charge them as soon as possible, as that condition makes their life shorter. If you hired machine for longer than a week check for battery charge at least once a week. To charge the battery drive the machine on a level floor. Connect the battery charger cable (fig. N) to the electrical mains (the electrical mains voltage and frequency must be compatible with the battery charger values described in the “Specifications”). L M Note: When the battery charger is connected to the electrical mains, all machine functions are automatically cut off. The green warning light (fig. L) flashes when the battery charger is charging the batteries When the green warning light (fig. L) stays on, the battery charging cycle is over. When the battery charging is completed, disconnect the battery charger cable (fig. N) from the electrical mains and wind it round its housing. Now the machine is ready to be used. Machine transport/parking To transport/park the machine, turn the brush/pad-holder switch and the vacuum system switch (fig. J) to “0”. Lift the squeegee with the lever (fig. G). Grasp the handlebar and slightly lower it until the rear wheel (fig. O) comes into contact with the floor (fig. O). While holding the machine in this position, push it to the transport/parking area. In order not to drag the brush/pad on the floor and leave wet marks, when finishing working, remove the brush/pad-holder from the deck by using the release device (with the brush/pad-holder lifted, turn the brush/pad- holder switch (fig. D) to “I” and, after a few seconds, back to “0”, thus releasing the brush/pad-holder), then place it on the support (fig. P). O P Tank emptying An automatic float shut-off system turns off the vacuum system when the recovery water tank (fig. Q) is full. The vacuum system shutdown, due to the recovery water tank filling, is signalled by an increase in the vacuum system motor noise, moreover the floor is not dried. If the vacuum system turns off accidentally (for example, when the float is activated because of a sudden machine movement), to resume the operation: turn off the vacuum system by pressing the switch (fig. R), then open the cover (fig. S) and check that the float inside the grid (fig. S) has gone down to the water level. Then close the cover (fig. S) and turn on the vacuum system by pressing the switch (fig. R). To empty recovery water tank start the machine by pressing the brush/pad-holder and vacuum system switches (fig. I). Lift the squeegee with the lever (fig. G). Push the machine to the appointed disposal area. Insert the positioning pin (fig. A) and lift the brush/pad-holder by engaging the transport/parking device (fig. B). Empty the recovery water tank with the drain hose (fig. T). Then, rinse the tank with clean water. To empty the solution tank use the drain valve (fig. U). Then, rinse the tank with clean water. Q R S Squeegee cleaning Drive the machine on a level floor. Make sure that the switches (fig. J) are in the "0" position. Lower the squeegee with the lever (fig. G). Disconnect the vacuum hose (fig. V) from the squeegee. Loosen the handwheels (fig. W) and remove the squeegee (fig. X). It is advisable to wear protective gloves when cleaning the squeegee because there may be sharp debris. Wash and clean the squeegee. In particular, clean the compartments (fig. Y.1) and the vacuum hole (fig. Y.2) from dirt and debris. Check the front blade (fig. Y.3) and the rear blade (fig. Y.4) for integrity, cuts and tears; if necessary contact local HSS for replacement. Assemble the components in the reverse order of disassembly. N V W T U X 2 1 4 3 Y Never push the equipment beyond its design limits. If it will not do what you want with reasonable ease and speed, assume you have the wrong tool for the job. Contact your local HSS Hire for advice. Keep the equipment clean, you will find this less of a chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the end of the hire period. When not in use, store the equipment somewhere clean, dry and safe from thieves and unauthorised users. Empty the tank, lift the squeegee, remove the brush/pad-holder from the deck and place it on the support. Give the machine a final clean up ready for return, to your local HSS Hire.

GETTING STARTEDBefore use the machine insert the positioning

pin (fig. A) and disengagethe machine transport/parking device (fig. B). Lift the brush/pad-holderdeck by prying the handlebar. Place the brush or the pad-holderunder the deck (fig. C).Lower the deck byusing the handlebar. Engage the

brush/pad-holder by pressing thebrush/pad switch for a few seconds(fig. D). If

the procedure is difficult, manually turn thebrush/pad-holder counter-clockwise.Install the squeegee and fasten it with thehandwheels, then connect the vacuum hoseto the squeegee. Open the recovery water

tank cover and engage the support rod(fig. E). Use the filler neck to fill the tankwith a solution suitable for the work to beperformed. Do not fill the solution tankcompletely, leave a few centimetres fromthe edge. Always follow the dilution

instructions on the label of the chemicalproduct used to prepare the solution. Thesolution temperature must not exceed 40°C.Adjust the handlebar with the knobs (fig. F) toreach a comfortable position.

ENGAGED

DISENGAGED

Do not bump into places where there is a risk of fallingobjects.Only use non foaming and non solvent chemicals. The machine working and storage temperature mustbe between 0°C and +40°C. Pay attention during machine transportation whentemperature is below freezing point. The water in therecovery tank or in the hoses could freeze and seriouslydamage the machine.Do not use the machine as a means of transport.Do not use the machine in particularly dusty areas.Do not allow the brushes to operate while the machineis stationary to avoid damaging the floor. In case of fire, use a powder fire extinguisher, not awater one.Do not allow any object to enter into the openings. Donot use the machine if the openings are clogged.Always keep the openings free from dust, hairs and anyother foreign material which could reduce the air flow.Do not remove or modify the plates affixed to themachine. This machine cannot be used on roads or public streets.Use brushes and pads supplied with the machine only.Using other brushes or pads could reduce safety. In case of machine malfunctions, ensure that these arenot due to lack of maintenance. If necessary, requestassistance from the local HSS Hire.Do not wash the machine with direct or pressurisedwater jets, or with corrosive substances.

BASIC TECHNIQUES

Lower the squeegee with the lever (fig. G).Turn the solution flow controllever (fig. H) to one of thefollowing positions, according tothe type of cleaning to be performed:

Starting the machine

Variable system: when the lever is turned to the left(variable flow) the flow rate can increase up to 1litres/min.It is not possible to completely stop the water flow tothe brushes during operation.
