We were at the! Lake Park on Sunday morning, November 6, enjoying the peace, tranquility and wildlife of Greenbelt's moat beautiful park. when the scene was destroyed by huge military helicopters flying loW over the lake landing on its shore.

But the roar and fumeJ:i of helicopters and trucks do not belonqo in a quiet city park, one of our few remaining natural havens. One cannot have it hath ways. Either we wilJ have a phys­ical and mental oasis whieh will attract and keep marvelous crea­tures such aa k:ingftshen and blue herons, and give ua time to think. or we will have a land­ing pad for helicopten.

handle of a handgun atickittc out from under the pa111encer seat. A search · ot the vehicle revealed 201 wrama of "crack" cocaine. The amall caliber handgun had had the aerial number ffled otf to avoid identification. .Two men, residenU of Greenbelt, were ar­rested an.;l eharged with poues­sion of "craek" with intent to distribute. poaaeaaion of a hand­gun, and removing the aerial number from the gun. In addi­tion, tbe driver was eharl'ed with speeding and driving with a sus­pended licen~ and is being held without bond pending triaL The second m&n ia being held on $500 bond pendiDJr trial.
