GET TO KNOW THE USOGET TO KNOW THE USO• WhatdoestheUSOstandfor? United Service Organizations
• Whenwasitfounded? In 1941 as a non-profit 501-c3 agency
• Whatisthemission? To lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families
• Whatisitsvision? To be the go-to organization for providing the support
to troops and their families that they so richly de-serve, creating an emotional bond between the USO, the military, their families and the American people.
For nearly 75 years, the United Service Organizations (USO) has supported our nation’s service members and their families. Committed to helping America’s troops whenever and wherever possible, USO volunteers assist thousands of individuals each year. The USO of Georgia, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that is responsible for USO operations and services in Georgia.
The members of the Armed Forces are “America’s sons and daughters” serving our country in peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts around the globe. Each year, USO volunteers work tirelessly to support them.
The USO exists to help troops and their families thrive and overcome the challenges of military life. Those who serve and protect us deserve our gratitude and support.
The USO receives no Federal government funding. It is dependent upon donations to fulfill its mission. Donations are tax-deductible under the 501(c)3 designation. Phone cards, bottled water and monetary donations are always needed. Contributionscanbemadeto:
