Plant-4D modules: Plant-4D is available on a modular basis.Users can configure their own Plant Design software tool from the various modules offered. These modules can either be used independently or in conjunction with each other.

4D-ExplorerProject Database management browser software, which includes the following:• Full reporting, line lists, component schedules, data sheets, MTO, BOM etc.• Plant-4D Project Administration/Data Management control• Data exchange capabilities with Plant-4D Pipe and P&ID• Project Manager for creation, maintenance, and user authorization• Network, Intranet and WWW FunctionalityThe 4D-Explorer module allows database entry or reporting and does not require any CAD platform. Thisis useful for personnel who need to read or write data, but do not have or need access to, or knowledgeof a CAD system for Data input or reporting.

Plant-4D P&IDThis module allows multiple users to work simultaneously on the same project, either working graphi-cally; placing a mixture of symbols and data or modifying data through a secured interface. In practice,a CAD user may wish to place graphics only on a P&ID whilst other, non-CAD users, input the data. Thisopens the possibilities of allowing certain personnel to be involved only where they are needed.The database allows common data such as line number, line type, etc. to be entered once only. This isthen inherited into all other components in that line. Many other fast drafting techniques are availablesuch as intelligent editing functions, etcThis core P&ID module includes the following:• Intelligent P&ID generation• Specification driven• Full reporting, including line lists, component schedules, data sheets etc.• Works on AutoCAD and/or MicroStation CAD Platform• Standalone or network functionality• Data link with Plant-4D Pipe 3D • 2D Component builder – can use existing AutoCAD Blocks or MicroStation Cells

Plant-4D PipeDrafting is made simple by selecting components from menu bars located in the AutoCAD/ MicroStationwork area. Specifications are selected at Project Management stage, prior to starting the project. A variety of fast drafting tools are available to assist e.g. auto-bolting, auto-weld gaps, auto routing ofpipe and elbows, etc. Data entered at P&ID stage of the project can be utilised in the Piping module, bymeans of the project database. Components thus only require additional information to that alreadyinput at P&ID stage. By using multiple viewing windows, components can be placed in 3D, the graphics being also shownin the 2D views. This offers the best of working in 2D and 3D by offering both speed and ease of use.This core Pipe module includes the following: • Specification driven 3D intelligent Pipe layout tool• 2D General Arrangements and Sections• Full reporting, including Bills of Materials, Line Lists, Valve schedules, etc.• Uses AutoCAD and/or MicroStation CAD Platform• Plant-4D Project Administration/ Data Management control• Standalone or network functionality• Data Link with Plant-4D P&ID

Plant-4D IsometricsThis module automatically generates Isometrics from the Plant-4D 3D model. It offers:• An Industry Standard• Unlimited number of runs• Variety of Isometric types, e.g. check, spool, erection, final,• Over 130 option codes for fully customizable outputs• Auto-error checks for correct component placementIsometrics is used with Plant-4D for generating many different types of isometrics. It has seamless integration with the Pipe product and generates the ISOs from the 3D model. These are automaticallydimensioned and tagged. The option codes allow considerable customization of the output isometric. A Bill of Materials may be automatically placed on the isometric.

Plant-4D EquipmentThis module parametrically defines Equipment Including:• Vessels with a range of tops, bottoms, and mountings• Pumps with a range of standards.This allows for the placement of general equipment items such as pumps, vessels, etc in addition tostructural steel layouts. Menu bars enable equipment to be easily and quickly selected and placed onthe drawing.

Plant-4D HVACPlant-4D HVAC contains a wide variety of rectangular, circular and oval duct components includingradius elbows, mitered elbows, dampers, heaters, coolers, tees, laterals, transitions and crosses.

Plant-4D StructuralsThese are special modules within the Plant-4D family for designing structural layouts. Comprehensivelibraries or standard structural profiles are supplied as standard.

Plant-4D Electrical/InstrumentationIn this module you can define area hazard characteristics, maintain cable, motor and accessories data,perform cable and motor sizing automatically, all according to easily defined local standards. Definemotor schematics and use them automatically perform PLC I/O assignment, cabling and wiring, bill ofmaterials for accessories and much more… Plant-4D Instrumentation offers you a number of modules with specific functionality for easy design,control and management of instrumentation. The modules include:• Data Management Module• A central core is used to define the basic data structure for the project setup.

Instrumentation data SheetsAn instrument data sheet (specification) module can be hooked to the basic system Wiring, Hook ups

Plant-4D Cable RacewayProvides the capability for modeling electrical cable trays and conduits, straight trays, bends, tees, crosses and reducers are parametrically placed. A wide variety of conduits and components from various manufacturers are included as standard.

Plant-4D VR ViewersThree versions are available with varying amounts of functionality. The full version allows independentviewing of the database in “walkthrough” graphical format. Other features include:• Runs independently, no CAD platform required• Camera paths may be pre-recorded• Existing AutoCAD DWG or MicroStation DGN Files may be referenced in the model• Model can be shown in wire-frame or rendered• Allows for direct interrogation and /or editing of the database from the graphic model • Clash reporting facility• Other departments like Process, Purchasing, Construction, etc. can view and add information to the

2D or 3D model without needing CAD systems.Due to Plant-4D storing all data in the database, the Viewer operates as a fast walkthrough/viewing toolwith many advanced features. The ability to access the data from the database purely by pointing at therelevant component and the clash detection facility are just two.

Plant-4D Pipe Stress InterfaceThe pipe stress interface allows information from piping design to be utilized by piping stress analysispackages. In addition to pipeline geometry, material types and operating temperatures are also exported.

Plant-4D Conversion ToolboxThe Plant-4D Conversion module allows you to export from other plant design packages Graphical andDatabase information into Plant-4D neutral Database format.

Plant-4D Specification ManagerThis module allows you to make your own specifications derived from standard catalogue databases anduse them for your specific projects. Many databases are available (such as ANSI, DIN, BS, NF, …)

Plant-4D Support ModelerThis module gives you the flexibility to model pipe supports according your standards.

Plant-4D Component BuilderWith this module you can make your own 3D components without needing any CAD system. It operates by using its own graphical interface.After your own 3D components have been made using the component builder, they can be used inAutoCAD and MicroStation, without conversion or programming.

Plant-4D is Intranet and Internet based:Plant-4D is available in Network and Standalone versions.The Network version allows more than oneuser to work on the Central Project Databasesimultaneously, by using active server pages,the intra or internet. Location of the users is nolonger important because engineering data ischecked continuously throughout the entireproject for every person working on the project.With the stand alone version one person hasaccess to the project Database. Data transferbetween the Network and Stand alone versionsis supported via the central project control.
