Day 2

changed? Brainstorm ideas while walking around. When returning home, take your ideas and put them into a paragraph using 3-4 sentences. Illustrate what you observed.

paragraph about a promise he/she is willing to make on Earth Day to make the planet a better place to live. Student will Illustrate or create a poster for his/her writing.

Have an adult call out a sight word and you
spell it using playdough, beans, cereal, shaving cream etc. Writing: Student will choose one of the 3 writing prompts to write about. Student
writing should include a topic sentence, at least 3 details to support his/her answer, and a conclusion sentence.
Writing Prompts:1. What do you think is the most important thing about the rainforest? Explain.2. If you were a butterfly in the rainforest, how would you protect yourself from
predators? Explain.3. If you could be any animal in the rainforest, which animal would you be? Why?

Writing: Students will use their 5 senses and take a nature walk around their yard or neighborhood. Students will take notes describing the different animal homes they observe. With those notes, they will write a story about what they observed. Illustrate your story.
