SHORT RÉSUMÉ

SSara Norberg was born (4.4.1978) and raised in Sodankylä, Lapland, Finland. At the age of 16 she decided she wanted to work in the film industry and moved to Helsinki, 939km from her home. Today Norberg is an industry pro with broad experience in film production, distribution and exhibition. After 10 years in various positions of film & TV production she worked for Sandrew Metronome Distribution company, and in 2011 joined the Helsinki International Film Festival - Love & Anarchy team as executive director.

IIn 2012 she founded the Finnish Film Affair industry event showcasing recent and upcoming Finnish feature films to international buyers, programmers and the press. This successfull industry event has since been organized annually during Helsinki IFF, with Norberg as member of the board still actively contributing. For two years (2017-2018) Norberg was the CEO of Korjaamo Group, part of Töölö Urban inc. Along Korjaamo Culture Factory’s activities in event and restaurant business (annual revenue 4,5M€), the company also operates cinema chain Korjaamo Kino with 830 seats in HeHelsinki. Norberg is mother of two boys (aged 11 and 14).

Korjaamo Group operates also Jääpuisto Ice Park in the central station and Korjamo Kino cinema chain with three screens in Töölö and Bio Rex.

SANDREW METRONOME DISTRIBUTION / PRODUCTION MANAGER 1.9.2009-30.1.2011Sandrew Metronome was one of the biggest distributors in the Nordic countries and the market leader in Finland when company suddenly closed its theatrical distribution in 2011. Along with Warner Bros’ distribution deal SMD was important distributor for local films.

MMAKING MOVIES / PRODUCTION MANAGER & LINE PRODUCER 2005-2009Internationally one of th most successful Production companies in Finland. During Norberg’s MAMO years biggest production being 1,8M€ Black Ice (dir Petri Kotwica) that premiered in the Berlinale Competition.

FILM PRODUCTION FREELANCER / VARIOUS POSITIONS 2001-2004WWorking for almost all major Finnish production companies as an assistant director or script supervisor. Several feature film / tv drama productions with directors like Aku Louhimies, JP Siili, Aleksi Mäkelä, Minna Virtanen and Auli Mantila.

PEARSON TELEVISION OY / 1.ASSISTANT DIRECTOR 1999-2000In the launching team of Concealed Lives (Salatut elämät), first ever daily drama series in Finland. Since its first episode aired in January 1999, it has been one of the most popular TV shows in Finland.
