Cranek earns 'Top Producer' award Roy Cranek of Eagle Lake has earned a Top Producer award from his employer, Schaeffer Specialized Lu- bricants. Cranek accepted the honors at the company's mid-Jan. sales meet- ing in St. Louis. Cranek credited his achievements at the fast-growing lubrication manu- facturer to two major factors, "We've got a lot going on. Just two years ago, we were chosen to produce and mar- ket a new soy-based diesel fuel addi- tive called SoyShield. We targeted two markets and sales were literally increasing every day. "And second, Schaeffer now pro- vides the lubricants for the Richard Petty Driving Experience racers. So, we're starting a new sales promotion for customers this spring. There will be a dozen customers winning the top prizes of an unbelievable Petty Driv- ing Experience. That means the pro- motion winners will be driving a Rich- ard Petty racer." Cranek explained enthusiasti- cally, "One of the other sales reps met with Richard Petty's engine builder about 16 months ago. They tried our lubricants and liked them so much they signed orders for all their Driving Experience race cars. Then, just be- fore the holidays, our company presi- dent agreed to a promotional partner- ship where Schaeffer has its name exclusively on one of the cars that travels to over 20 race tracks all over the country." Cranek continued, "So, the best part is that our Petty car will be travel- ing nationwide this year. Who wouldn' t be pumped about this kind of job?" At first, the auto looks somewhat like a bright Pontiac Grand Prix to most people, but is a modified Win- ston Cup style stock car with a 357 cubic inch, 630 horsepower engine. It is designed to run at speeds up to 170 mph. There's no missing this sleek machine, which is custom painted red and yellow with several large Schaef- fer logos imprinted on it. Dates for the Richard Petty Driving Experience at local racetracks are available on the Schaeffer website www.Schaefferoil. com; or by calling 1-800-BE-PETTY. The oldest oil company in the country, Schaeffer's is owned by the sixth generation of the same family. The manufacturing plant has re- mained in its original location on the St. Louis riverfront since 1839. Roy Cranek poses with the Petty race car which will be touring the country soon.
