4 th Grade News Mr. Kreifels, Mrs. Unterseher, Ms. Murphy ~ May 2017 Literacy Unit 6 Week 4 Genre: Expository Text Skill: Main Idea Grammar: Prepositions Unit 6 Week 5 Genre: Poetry Skill: Theme Grammar: Prepositions Unit 6 Assessment May 17-19 Writing Biographies • We will be finishing up our research and creating a display for the Living Timeline Presentation on May 19! Unit Studies Social Studies Students will learn how Nebraska became a state and how that impacted U.S. history. They will also learn about important Nebraskans and why agriculture is important to our state. Health ~ Growth and Development The students will watch the growth and development video this year. They will be separated into a boys room and a girls room to watch each separate video. Parents have the option of viewing the video before hand if they would like to or they are welcome to come watch the video with their students as well. The video will be viewed on May 12 th in the afternoon, if you have any questions or concerns be sure to contact your student’s homeroom teacher for additional details.
