It supports students to achieve their personal best in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. Dear Parents/Guardians, Last week it was wonderful to welcome our Prep-2 students back to classroom learning after a 6 week period of remote learning and we are excitedly waiting for the Year 3-6 students returning on June 9 th . It was strange to hear the bell ringing throughout the day, noise coming from our outdoor play areas and learning energy coming from our classrooms. As you would be aware there are some changes in place, for example, a change to dismissal time for families A-K, more gates open for entry/exit, no adults on site and additional cleaning. The Department has provided us with an additional cleaner who is here throughout the day undertaking regular cleaning and sanitising throughout the school. Again I would like to thank our families that have supported the school throughout this challenging time. This has enabled us to provide remote learning for all our students during these unprecedented times. Return to School Operations Thank you to the families who have read the Return to School Operations letter outlining all the operations we currently have in place. The letter was sent home to all families on Wednesday 20 th May and can be found on our school website. The success of students returning to school is everyones responsibility and we ask for your continued support and patience in following the current operations to ensure the health and wellbeing of all our students and staff. We are all in this together! Remote Learning Survey Learning from home has been a big change for schools, teachers, students and families. At Karingal Primary School we would love to know how this different way of learning has gone for your child so far. We are inviting all families to complete the 2020 Learning from Home Survey. There will be 2 surveys. One is for parents to complete across the whole school. The second one is for our Year 4/5/6 students to complete. We would ask parents to assist students completing their survey if they need some help. This information will be used to drive school improvements. The surveys take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Look for more information and the survey links in your emails from earlier this week. We would like to get as much feedback as possible to help us with our school improvement. It s all part of the learning process. Equipment on Loan A number of families have ICT equipment on loan during remote learning. All devices on loan should be returned to school now, so that all students at school can have access to our equipment. Students are also reminded to bring along any work they havent shared with their teacher and their pencil cases, books etc. that they took home with them at the end of Term 1. Management of Unwell Students Any student that is unwell should remain at home. Any student that is experiencing compatible symptoms with COVID-19 at school will be isolated and a parent contacted to collect them. Parents should then seek advice from their health care professional who can advise on the next steps. Drink Taps Our bubble taps have been isolated or taped off and we have a number of filling stations around the school. Please remind your child to bring their own labelled drink bottle to and from school every day. Mid-Year Reports Teachers are in the process of compiling the Mid-Year Reports. The reports will be sent home at the end of term. If you require two separate reports or your family has two separate addresses, could you please let the school know. Alternative Family Forms are available from the Office. Queens Birthday Holiday Just a reminder that Monday 8 th June is a Public Holiday and school will be closed. Magpies

By Evie 5/6B

Dark shadows fly through the sky, keeping an eye.

So beautiful, so bold, so strong, so mighty. Here they come, here they come.

Excellent feathers, sharp talons, and big red eyes.

Oh my, oh my you must fly.

Dangerous you think, friendly they be, so leave them perched up in their tree.

Keeping an eye on us. Magpie, Magpie you must fly!
