Our Years 6,9, 10 and 12 are heavily involved in their Ujian Nasional and/or other international benchmark examinations. We believe they will excel when they are consistent in their effort and responsibly in their learning. We hope all parents will render the fullest support for all the children as they prepare for the end of year examinations and tests. Ensuring they have good rest and nutrition is fundamental to peak performance. A well-rested child will perform well. The clarity of mind and sharpness in thinking will allow them to address assessment issues effectively. Let the children have fresh home cooked food and fruits. Nutrition is vital for good health and exercise keeps one alert. In the weeks preceding the Term Break, the school was invited by the government of the State of Victoria, Australia, for their Victoria Invitation Program to visit their top universities and schools. In the course of the visit, we established relationship with the universities and will be collaborating with them for future admissions. We are excited that this opens access to the universities such as Melbourne University, Victoria University, Swinburne University, Monash University and La Trobe University. Victoria University’s Head for Admission has visited our school and is keen to deepen partnership with our school. The school has also established partnership with Raffles Institution and Raffles Girls’ School from Singapore. Raffles Institution (RI) and Raffles Girls’ School (RGS) will now be offering the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) school-based scholarships to NHJS students. They jointly run the six-year integrated Raffles Programme, which culminates in our selected students sitting for the GCE ‘A’ Level Examination at Year 6. Successful NHJS’s recipients of the SCCCI four-year scholarship will do their Year 3 and Year 4 education at RI (for male students) and RGS (for female students), and will complete their Year 5 and Year 6 education at RI (for both male and female students). We hope that through this scholarship, our students will have the opportunity to pursue their studies at RI and RGS, and be encouraged and motivated to excel academically. For this year 2018, RI and RGS plan to conduct the scholarship selection exercise for NHJS students in Jakarta on July/August period. There will be a briefing session for all our students in present Years 6 to 8 on 2 May 2018 in the School Auditorium. The briefing will be conducted by the RI/RGS teams in English. Click: http://nh.piagetacademy.org/wpl.html We are delighted that Sustainable High has completed their first task of setting up their Branch Café. This establishment is a social enterprise fully supported by the school. The great value in learning and operating the Café will allow the students a sense of business venture with a social responsibility outlook. Details will be shared by the students once they are ready. The school wishes them every success in this venture. The school is organising the Real Madrid Foundation Soccer Clinic and strongly encourage interested players to register early for it. It is a good opportunity to be coached by the professional coaches affiliated to RMF. We wish everyone a good Term 4 and a good learning experience. God Bless. >> P2I and P4G Classes Dear parents, We are writing this note with a heavy heart to inform all, especially those parents whose children are under the care of Mr Wilfred and Ms Prescy. As their son, Basti, needs urgent medical care, they will likely miss their classes in Term 4. The school will be deploying other staff to cover their duties whilst they are absent. We will work closely to ensure that the learning of the children will continue and there will be no disruption. We appeal to all parents to not write to them on school or classroom matters so they can have the peace of mind to attend to their son, Basti. We like your understanding on this matter and your prayers for the speedy recovery of their son is appreciated. God bless. Hwee Khoon

>> KUNGFU MATH FOR PRIMARY STUDENTS www.kungfu-math.com We all know how technology takes part in our child’s daily activities. Even in teaching and learning, technology plays a big role in developing minds and abilities of every student. Kungfu-math.com is an online Singapore Math Portal created to enrich and motivate students in the learning of Singapore Math and to improve their Mathematics score. The portal is embedded with exciting games, enthusing pupils to deepen their understanding of Mathematical concepts and sharpen their Math problem solving skills.
