Archangels

• Feast Day- September 29th • Michael, Gabriel, Raphael.• They are “generals” and messengers for

God. • They also protect heaven and the other

angels.

St. Francis of Assisi • Feast day is October 4th. • Patron Saint of Animals, Merchants and

Ecology. • Founded the Franciscan Order.

St. Martin De Pores• Feast Day is November 3• Patron of Barbers • Was born in Lima Peru in 1579• At age 15, he became a lay brother in the

Dominican Friary at Lima and spent his whole life there as a barber, farmer, laborer, and worked in the infirmaries among other things.

• He was a close friend of St. Rose of Lima, and he died in 1639.

St. Andrew • Feast Day is November 30• Patron of Fishermen• Andrew was the first disciple of Christ. He

brought his brother Peter to be a disciple of Jesus.

• Andrew followed Jesus and spend time telling others about Jesus. He moved to Greece and taught them all about Jesus.

• When Andrew died, he was hung upside down a cross. He died for his faith. He did not want to die the same way Jesus did.

St. John Neumann

• Feast Day is January 5th. • Founded the Catholic School System.• He also started the devotion to the Holy Eucharist. • He was a priest, and bishop and died while walking toMass.

St. Francis DeSales • Feast Day January 24• Patron of the Diocese of Wilmington and

journalists and writers. • Born in France in 1567• Bishop of Geneva and is a Roman Catholic saint. He worked to

convert Protestants back to Catholicism, and was an accomplished preacher. He is known also for his writings on the topic of spiritual direction and spiritual formation.

St. Patrick

• Feast Day- March 17th

• Patron Saint of Ireland• Taught the people of Ireland about theCatholic Faith. • Drove the “snakes” out of Ireland( snakes were the non-Catholics)

St. Joseph

• Feast Day- March 19th. • Patron of workers and real estate

agents.• Foster father of Jesus. Stood by

Mary’s side and raised Jesus.

St. Peter and Paul

• Feast Day- June 29th. • Two great disciples of Jesus. They were Both Martyrs who died for their beliefs

in Jesus. • St. Peter was the first Pope and Guards Heaven.• St. Paul established many churches.

St. Maria Goretti

• Feast Day July 6th. • Patron of Young Women.• She is called a martyr because sheFought against her attackers.

Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha

• Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha (1656-1680), also known as Blessed Catherine Tekakwitha, is honored by the Catholic Church as the patroness of ecology, nature, and the environment. 

• Tekakwitha's Iroquois name can be translated as, "One who places things in order.

• Kateri started a convent for Native American Sisters.

• She is know as Lily of the Mohawks.• Feast Day July 14

St. Rose of Lima

• Feast Day August 30.• Patron of Latin America and the Phillipines.• This South American Saint's real name was

Isabel, but she was such a beautiful baby that she was called Rose, and that name remained

• St. Rose worked hard to support her poor parents and she humbly obeyed them, except when they tried to get her to marry. That she would not do. Her love of Jesus was so great that when she talked about Him, her face glowed and her eyes sparkled.

St. Lawrence

• Feast Day- August 10th.• He gave help to the poor and needy. • He was a martyr because he was killed

on an iron gate, and hung there for teaching about his faith.

St. Maximillian Kolbe

• Feast Day- August 14th

• Maximilian was born in 1894 in Poland.• Maximilian founded the Immaculata

Movement devoted to Our Lady.• On July 31, 1941, in reprisal for one prisoner's

escape, ten men were chosen to die. Father Kolbe offered himself in place of a young husband and father. He died in a concentration camp at Auschwitz.

St. John Vianney • Feast Day- August 4th.• Patron of Priests. • He had extreme patience because he heard

confessions for 16 hours a day. He lived in France.

• . His life was filled with works of charity and love.

• It is recorded that even the staunchest of sinners were converted at his mere word.

• He died August 4, 1859, and was canonized May 31, 1925.
