It's been nearly a week since the heroes made their flight from Messantia, but it feels like a lifetime ago. The freedom of the open water has reinvigorated the passion of Conan and Belit; while Shevatas has found relief in the solitude that the sea provides. Zelata, however, has fatigued with the sound of crashing waves against creaking boards, and has longed for nothing more than stable ground beneath her feet. An involuntary stowaway rounds out the Vandal's crew. In their haste to steal Zaporavo's ship, the heroes failed to notice that one of Zaporavo's hired deckhands was in the hull below. Conan thought better than to march him off the plank, and his prowess on deck has turned him into a valuable asset. Meanwhile, Zelata's petition to dock in Kush, went unanswered. Despite her signaling an ominous sign in the stars to the south, Conan repelled the witch's plea. Regarding it an expression of Zelata's longing for land, Conan insisted on putting more distance between themselves and Argos. Thus, the heroes have found themselves in their present peril. One day earlier, Belit relayed to the crew a tale of outcast buccaneers who's ship was shrouded in mystery and rumored to haunt the waters off the Black Coast. So it was, when a mysterious fog rolled in and enveloped the Vandal, a forboding sense gripped the crew. Every effort to escape the murky environ proved futile. Just then, a sinister vessel obscured by darkened clouds ran alongside the Vandal and its forlorn crew began to climb aboard. With catlike reflexes, Conan sprang to action. The crew followed likewise. "Strike the Captain!" shrilled Zelata. This time, Conan would be certain to heed the witch's judgment. Objectives If the Hyperborean Primitive is dead and all (living) heroes are on board the Vandal, the heroes carve a path through the abysmal fog, leaving the outcasts' ship at their backs; the heroes win the game. Proceed to the scenario "Plunder of the Southern Isles" If the turn marker reaches space 7, the Vandal becomes enveloped by the abysmal fog, the Overlord wins the game. value of 5 in the Book of Skelos.

Abysmal FogAbysmal Fog : The fog thickens, encompassing the Vandal and pushing the heroes escape further out of reach. Advance the turnmarker one space toward 15.

Spells : Set's Halo, Lethal Cloud, Deceleration Hyperborean Primitive starts with Set's Halo cast

Special rulesLeapLeap : If a hero fails to leap, the character remains in its area. If a minion or ally fails to leap, that character falls in the waterand is enveloped in the abysmal mists rising from the waters; the character dies.

ChestsChests : During setup, the Overlord places 6 chests on the board as indicated by the setup diagram. The asset deck contains: 1Buckler, 1 Two-Handed Sword, 1 Ornamental Spear, 1 Spellbook, 2 Life Potions.

Ballista FireBallista Fire : A hero in an area with a ballista facing the outcasts' ship can fire the ballista once per hero turn if there are noenemy units in the area and there is at least one other hero or ally in the same area to assist in the action. If the herosucceeds a complex Manipulation with a difficulty of two, the heroes score a hit on the outcast's ship. Move the turn marker 1space back, toward 0.

Cast AnchorCast Anchor : During set-up, the Overlord places two relic tokens on the board as indicated by the set-up diagram. Theserepresent the two anchors that can be cast into the sea.A hero in an area marked with a relic token can perform a Complex Manipulation with a difficulty of two. If the hero succeedsremove the relic from the game board to indicate that the task has been successfully completed. Move the turn marker 1 spaceback, toward 0.

SpellbookSpellbook : If the Spellbook is drawn from the asset deck and retained by any hero until the end of the scenario, Zelata canread it, and thereby learn the spell "Lightning Storm." Zelata begins all future scenarios in this campaign with "LightningStorm" equipped, instead of "Bori's Rage".

AssetsAssets : At completion of this scenario, the heroes retain all equipment and assets they acquired, and are free to exchangethem amongst themselves before they begin the next scenario in the campaign.
