Viacom is producing a new spinoff series built around Transformers character Bumblebee, with the first entry sent to debut in 2018. The company also has other Transformers films and television projects in the works.

Nickelodeon is rebooting many of its classic properties, and it’s working on an array of new television and movie projects built around its classic Nicktoons lineup from the 90s.

Paramount and Nickelodeon are working on an ensemble adventure film that will bring characters from the Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, and other classic cartoon properties together.

It’s also got a new Spongebob movie set to release in 2019.

Star Trek

2016’s Star Trek Beyond underperformed at the box office, but recent comments from Viacom CEO Robert Bakish suggest the company still expects the property to be one of its big entertainment franchises. Image source: Viacom.

CBS owns the television rights to Star Trek, so cross-medium universe building is complicated, but Viacom has already announced that it’s working on another Trek film. It’s unclear if the movie will be a fresh take on the franchise or a sequel to Star Trek Beyond.

Despite a lackluster performance for its most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, the property remains a key franchise for Viacom.
