5 Points to Keep In Mind before Putting Up a Scaffold
Scaffolding is the most essential things to rely on while on the construction site. Take it for safety or for precaution, it is the most used technology, which saves millions of lives. But, if you wish to work with it, you have to be very careful as well. Slightest of mistake can end your life, so be careful of how you use. So, this presentation is about knowing the 5 things before you set up a scaffolding:
Plan ahead before putting up scaffolding:•Think about renting or owning scaffolding, if you have a bigger firm and would need it often.•If you are renting then check all the parts thoroughly•To ensure that no parts are missing, make a sketch at first•Missing pieces can make your step in the scaffolding risky.
Prepare the area around the scaffolding:•Grounds should be levelled as much as possible•Uneven ground is dangerous to have the scaffolding on.•Soils should be compact •The ground should be able to support the scaffold, even in wet weather
Know that safety is priority:•Gloves, hard-hats and goggles are the most obvious protective equipments that should be with you•Never go to any extreme corner•Ladders should be used•Handrails, toe-boards, and access gates should also be kept handy
Usage of Boarding is necessary:•Don’t think that boarding will make the scaffolding safer, but it will make your work easier.•Boards, or battens, can be used to store materials and provide a sound working platform•Make sure it is fitted tightly like the Scaffolding in Eltham•Check for any split, rotten, or damaged scaffold boards.
Check and inspect the structure before use:•An inspection on a daily basis is necessary •The inspector must keep a record and sign it with date after checking•He should be responsible in pointing out any damaged braces or supports•So, he needs to be very careful about his work.
