Style sheetStyle sheet Redbull poster

Red Bull gives you wings

Another one of my projects is a Redbull poster. It consists of a can of Redbull attached to a pair of wings (as tribute to their tagline “RedBull gives you wings”), against a blue sun-radial background. I also have the idea of cans of RedBull pouring down from the sides like waterfalls – although this idea isn’t definite. The colour scheme consists of shades of blue; gold; red; and silver. The shades of blue are a part of the background, and the gold and red are a part of RedBull’s logo. The actual can featured in my poster consists primarily of blue and silver. If I were to include the waterfall idea I mentioned earlier, the colour gold would have a more overbearing presencethan if I didn’t include that idea.

To the right you can see a quick mock-up I made of the design using PowerPoint’s built-in Shapes. For the background I took an image of a sun-radial background, and turned it from yellow to blue using PowerPoint’s re-colouring feature. The blue rectangle in the centre is a placeholder for a can of RedBull.

Style sheet Soda machine design

I have an idea of creating a design for the cover of a soda machine. I want the design to display all the sodas it sells on the front, divided in diagonal segments.

I made a mock-up of my design underneath the colour scheme. In the foreground there will be a can of soda made up of a mishmash of existing soda can designs that correlate with the background colours. In other words, in the rectangle with the white outline, the green represents a segment from a can of Sprite, the yellow from a can of Fanta, the blue from a can of Pepsi, etc., etc.

In the mock-up I made, the colours are separated by black lines, but this won’t be the case in my actual product. The following soda brands will be featured in my design:

Green = SpriteYellow = FantaBlue = PepsiRed = Coca ColaSilver = Coke Diet.

I hadn’t planned on including any text in my design, so I haven’t included any fonts in my style sheet.

The colour palette of my supernova mainly focuses on a pair of complementary colours, namely blue and orange. The blast of the supernova will contain yellow and orange near the centre, but will fade into blue and green away from it. The planet featured in my work will be a blue gas planet, to contrast the colour of the blast.

To expand on the colours of the blast, from the centre to the end it goes as follows: white, yellow, orange, green, blue. I made a quick mock-up of what it would look like underneath the colour scheme. There is no need for me to talk about fonts, as there won’t be any text featured in this project.

Below I have made a quick mock-up layout design. I managed to include the gradients that I mentioned earlier in the design too, thanks to PowerPoint’s built-in gradient filling feature. The only thing missing from my mock-up is the white stars that fill up the background.

For this project, I will be integrating a cityscape into the shell of a turtle/tortoise. The colour scheme I made features colours of the scene I have in my mind. The first row represents the colours of the turtle, the second row represents the colour of the buildings and the sand, and finally, the last row represents the colours of the ocean.

There is no real need for me to talk about fonts, as there won’t be any text featured in this project.

Below I made a mock-up of what I have in mind for this project. It’s a turtle in the middle of crawling towards the sea with skyscrapers built into its shell. The skyscrapers featured will be taken from images of existing skyscrapers, for example, the skyscrapers standing in New York or Chicago.

Another project I had in mind was to create a civilization contained within a teacup. What I mean by this is that inside a teacup, there will be a blue ocean and an inhabited island near the rim of the cup.

To the left you can see the colour scheme I have made for this project: the shades of brown and green represent the land present in the teacup, and the blue represents the ocean.

Below I made a mock-up of the design of the teacup civilization using the shapes that PowerPoint provided. It isn’t very detailed, but it should give you a basic idea of what it is I plan on making. The real thing will have a lot more intricate details, such as ships sailing in the ocean, a harbour at the edge of the island, and maybe even buildings.

Contingency PlanningPotential Issue Solution

The servers containing the work of all students could malfunction/crash/break.

Backing-up my work on a USB stick.

Getting ill. Making work from home or catching up on work in my free time.

Photoshop could crash. Backing-up my work regularly on my USB stick.

My USB stick could break or stop working. Backing-up my work to a cloud service in case I can’t recover my work from the computer or my USB stick, or use a second USB stick.

A natural disaster (snowstorm, flood, tornado) preventing me from attending class.

Ensure that I can be prepared to work from home.

There could be a power outage. Saving my work as often as possible.

Health and SafetyPotential Issue How will the issue be

avoided?Prolonged sitting can lead to joint pain, a strained neck, back pain, and heart disease.

Taking a scheduled 3 minute break every half-hour during the day to stand or move around. Have the monitor at eye level.

Staring too much at a monitor can lead to eye strain.

Looking at an object 20ft away for 20 seconds every half-hour, and turning down the brightness of the screen.

Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Use wrist rests and have a five-minute break from typing every hour

Seated Immobility Thromboembolism (SIT) Taking a scheduled 10 minute break every hour during the day to move around.

Catching a cold or the flu. Cleaning your keyboard, mouse and desk. Washing your hands. Staying hydrated.

Electrocution by touching broken wires. Ensuring that any wires you touch are intact.
