Food QualityStep One: Unprocess your diet.
By this I mean that I want you to eat single ingredient foods.
Whole, organic food that has been grown naturally and come
straight to you. Try to find the freshest produce you can from
local farm shops and farmers markets for example.
Look to eat fresh fruit, vegetables and lean meats all from
local sources.
Try to stay out the supermarket as much as possible even
for your fruit and veg!
By filling up on organic, single ingredient foods you will
naturally push all the processed foods out from your diet.
You no longer want to be buying any food that comes from a
packet or that has gone through any form of production
processes.
FrequencyStep Two: Eat constantly
Now that you are eating good quality foods, you need to make
sure this is a regular occurance. Some people benefit from
eating 3 times a day, other people are better with 6 or 7 times a
day.
Whatever way suits you, you need to make sure you stay
regularly fuelled. You will massively hinder your weight loss if
you are going 56 hours everyday with no food.
By Eating regularly you get your body used to the consistancy
and therefore the body does not feel the need to store fat as it
expects more fuel to be added in a few hours.
This also increases your metabolism which helps you
consistantly burn more calories even when you are at rest!
QuantityStep Three: Are you eating enough?
Many people who try to lose weight make the mistake of under
eating. Now you have steps one and two sorted, you need to
make sure you are actually eating the right amount for you.
I say for you because everybody has different needs and
requirements. Making sure you are actually fuelling your body
adequately will make a big difference.
Nobody wants to go on a diet and be hungry it leads to
eventual failure. It is also vital that your body recieves the
correct amount of fuel so that it can run correctly. A fully
functioning body will be a huge benefit to anybody attempting to
lose weight.
To find out if you are eating the correct amount, contact us for a
free telephone consultation and we will be happy to talk to you
about your requirements.
MacrosStep Four: Getting the balance right
Now you are eating the correct daily calories, how do you know
you are eating the right calories?
Yes you are eating fresh fruit and 2000 calories a day but you
cannot eat 2000 calories of fruit everyday.
Macronutrients consist of Fats, Carbohydrates and Protein and
your body needs all three on a daily basis. Yes, even Carbs and
Fat!
I keep talking about body fuel and this is why. It is the
combination of Carbohydrates, Fats and Protein that fuel your
body. Without a good balance, the right balance, your body will
not function correctly.
Again, to find out your balance, please register for a free
telephone consultation.
ExerciseStep Five: Move a little bit more
Now everything is in place, you can start to burn some extra
calories and start to move a little more.
How much exercise will benefit you is purely down to how much
you currently do. If you are a very sedentary person who rarely
gets off the couch, then walking 15 minutes a day is going to ba
huge help to both your weight loss and your general health.
Some people are already quite active but are overweight due to
a poor diet. If this is you then you can maybe try some more
exhaustive training training such as HIIT (High Intensity Interval
Training.
Whatever training you embark on, be sure to get the first four
stages perfect first.
