5 still shots that will inspire my film This still shot is from a very famous in the film ‘phycho’ where the camera is showing the action of the protagonist and in the background is the protagonist preparing to attack. The beauty of this shot is that an example of dramatic irony is used as the audience know that the antagonist is going to attack and the protagonist doesn't know about it. Throughout the scene it is completely quiet with only the noise of the water hitting the ground which is used to create tension in the scene as it is making it awkward for the viewer and is probably used to let the viewer know something bad is going to happen. We will like to use this idea In our film because we like the way it creates tension for the viewer and how the awkward shot is used to create suspense

5 still shots that will inspire my film

• This still shot is from a very famous in the film ‘phycho’ where the camera is showing the action of the protagonist and in the background is the protagonist preparing to attack.

• We will like to use this idea In our film because we like the way it creates tension for the viewer and how the awkward shot is used to create suspense

Shot 2

• This is a very famous still shot from a very well-known film. This sill shot is when the protagonist is alarmed by the antagonist In the shower.

• The most noticeable part of the shot is the emotion on the woman's face. The face creates immense tension and fright for the audience as the woman's face is stretched to show emotion to full extent to make the audience feel uneasy and frightened.

• Lastly high key lighting might be relating to the afterlife as the bright colours relate to this. This might be presenting her death as peaceful and religious.

Shot 3• This shot is a shot from the latest conjuring

film where one of the protagonists is investigating a trail of blood to the basement. One of the numerous things I like about this shot is the mysterious and secretive atmosphere it created for the audience which is created by the high key lighting in the middle of the screen juxtaposed by the pitch black background. For the audience this plays with there emotions and makes the audience create what could be in the pitch black. Furthermore the still shot creates suspense to the audience due to the emotion shown on the woman's face. This creates tension to the audience as it shows that she is scared and afraid of what could be near her and this creates the whole atmosphere for the audience as the emotion that’s on her face reflects on what we feel.

Shot 4This shot is also from a legendary horror film which Is The Shinning. This shot is an extreme close up of jack Nicolson when he is slowly chasing the protagonist with an axe. With the axe he slowly breaks the door down with a axe and peaks his head and sais here’s Johnny. My interest in this still shot is the extreme close up is used to show the insane and crazy face of the protagonist creating a thrill and a horror pleasure for the viewer. Throughout this scene he is doing everything slowly to create tension and suspense for the viewer which we grown to like.

Shot 5• This shot from the exorcism is a very

strange and chilling still shot which show s the girl spiritual control walking in a misty garden.

• This shot is strange and unsettling as the fog connotes a mysterious and eerie atmosphere for the audience.

• The body language of the woman creates a sense of danger and threat and also makes the woman look deranged she has such a strange stance.

• Lastly the costume connotes abnormal and strange. People associate long drape with mentally unstable people. This makes the audience feel uneasy and startled. The colour of the drape is very dull to maybe connote her boring life.
