5 THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT BEFORE EACH PUBLIC PRESENTATION
The stress before each public presentation can be overwhelming. To ease it, all you have to do is take care of the things you can actually control – like your slides, your outfit and all the other things that sometimes can add unnecessary stress to the most natural anxiety you might feel. You might not get rid of stress for good but
you will decrease it a lot with my 5 simple tips.
CHECK IF YOU HAVE YOUR SLIDES
This may sound ridiculous but trust me, there are times when even the best of us forget to
take the slides with them. My advice is to have the extra copy on you pen drive and maybe
even one extra send to own mailbox. This way you will have two backup copies in case your
memory fails.
CHECK HOW THE SLIDES LOOK LIKEYes, I know they are beautiful. Just make sure they look equally good on your computer and the actual computer
you are going to present from. Also make sure the slides look good in the place you are going to present at. In the very light rooms only very contrasting slides

CHECK HOW YOU LOOK LIKEYou look smashing good. I know. Just
make sure to check if the clothes you are going to wear are clean a day prior the presentation. Also try to talk and make some gestures wearing them. That is
really important as you do not want to flash the audience with… body parts you
want to stay private.
DRINK WATERand by water I mean water – not fizzy drinks, not alcohol, not tea or coffee. You might want to try water with a bit of ginger and lemon. It warms your throat naturally. Water should be still and preferably in room temperature. And… do not
forget to use the toilet before you go.
GET YOUR VOICE READY
Warm up your voice gently starting with light humming. Try to warm up the vocal cords with
this gentle exercise. Then add vowels after
each hum. You can do it on the way in a car.
