Issues in the Indian Film and Entertainment Industry” in collaboration with Intellectual Property Protection Organization (IPPO)

on May 8, 2021. Mr. Rodney D. Ryder, Founding Partner of ‘Scriboard Advocates, and Legal Consultants’ New Delhi and Mr.

Nishad Nadkarni, Partner in "Intellectual Property" at 'Khaitan & Co' Ahmedabad were the keynotes speakers.

Symposium on “Copyright Issues in the Indian Film and Entertainment Industry”

The panel discussed copyright issues that arise in the Film and Entertainment industry, with a

focus on piracy challenges in the digital era. The esteemed panellists included: Mr Rodney D

On the occasion of World Intellectual Property Rights Day, The Centre for IPR, in collaboration of

IPPO, organised a session on “Virtual Symposium on the Interface of Intellectual Property Rights

and Fantasy Sports” on April 24, 2021. Saurabh Nandrekar, Managing Partner, Fidus Law

Chambers, talked on the topic ‘Use of third-party Intellectual Property in Fantasy Sports Games’

and Ranjana Adhikari, Co-Head Media and Entertainment and Gaming Law, NDA and Inika

Charles, Member of TMT and IP Practice Group, NDA talked on Navigating the Legality of Daily

Fantasy Sports in India.

The Centre for Corporate Law Studies (CCLS) organized the First CCLS Blog Writing Competition on the theme of 'Ending Child Labour through Business' in June 2021. The Winner (Author of the Best Essay) of this Competition was Gaurav Agarwal (20BBL084). Harsh Dogra (20BBL085) (Author of the Second-Best Essay) and Aayam Yashlaha (20BAL002) (Author of the Third-Best Essay) were the Runners Up.

The Centre for Corporate Law Studies (CCLS) conducted IBBI-ILNU National Essay Writing Competition 2021 on the theme of 'Contemporary Issues in Corporate Insolvency Law' and completed the final stage on April 2, 2021.

The Centre for Environmental Law, Institute of Law, Nirma University in collaboration with Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Western Region, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai organised a webinar on “Ecosystem Restoration” on June 08, 2021. Shri Warkad Yogesh Nilkanth, IFS, Regional Deputy Director, WCCB, WR, Navi Mumbai, Dr. Madhuri Parikh, Associate Professor & Head, Centre for Environmental Law, Institute of Law, Nirma University, Dr. Alpan Sharma Principal, SS Jain Subodh Law College, Jaipur and Shri N. Maranko, Assistant Director, WCCB, Navi Mumbai were there keynote speakers of the webinar.

Centre for Criminal Law and Justice(CCLJ) released the 8�� issue of Monthly Magazine on the theme “Suicide Laws” on April 15, 2021.

Centre for ADR, ILNU organised a session on “Due to process and Remote Hearing – UNICITRAL Model Law” on April 30, 2021. The keynote panellist for the lecture was Niuscha Bassiri, Partner, Hanotiau & Van Den Berg.

Centre for Criminal Law and Justice(CCLJ) organised the 2ⁿ� Case Club Discussion on Uttar Pradesh’s Anti- Conversion Ordinance on April 11, 2021.

The Centre for Competition Law and Market Study and the Centre for Intellectual Property Rights at the Institute of Law Nirma University jointly organised a Conference on "Intellectual Property Rights and Competition Law" on April 16, 2021. The Conference majorly dealt with two topics Session I discussed the Interface of Competition and IPR with a special focus on the Exclusive Distribution Agreement dealt extensively by Mr. KD Raju, Ms. Shilpi Bhattacharya and Ms. Avaanti Kakkar. Session II dealt with the jurisdictional conflicts that arise between the IP Sector Regulator and the Competition Commission of India which was addressed by Mr. Somashekhar Sunderasan, Mr. J Sai Deepak and Ms. Nisha Kaur Uberoi. Overall the Conference was insightful and an enriching experience

The team comprising of Prof. Dr. Purvi Pokhariyal, Dr. Tarkesh Molia, Prof. Dr. Varsha Ganguly, Mr. Arpit Sharma, Mr. Alaukik Shrivastava and Mr. Suryanshu Gupta recently presented a field report on “Justice Education Through Lawyers Incubation Clinic- A Case Study of Nirma Law School” in the GAJE/IJCLE/ACCLE Worldwide Online Conference - "Turning Challenges into Opportunities: Justice Education in Times of Crises" from June 16-18, 2021. The field report alongwith the video submission highlighted the tasks completed by the clinic in the form of legal sensitization through classroom training, street law initiatives and litigation activities.

Border Insolvency’. The speaker for this lecture was Dr. Neeti Shikha (Head, Centre for Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs). Dr. Shikha explained the features, jurisdiction, challenges, and relevant laws related to contemporary issue of Cross-Border Insolvency. The session was moderated by Prof. Amit Kumar Kashyap.

Ms. Meena Rajgor, an NGO Worker delivered a lecture on ‘How Panchayat is working with the GPDP and other schemes and empowering women and financial’ to the senior students (Semester VIII) on April 26, 2021.

Mr. Karan Valecha, Advocate, Supreme Court of India delivered a lecture on ‘Corporate Insolvency Law’ on April 29, 2021 to the senior students (Semester VIII). The lecture was a good exposure to the students.

On May 02, 2021, the Centre for Corporate Law Studies (CCLS) organized an expert discussion on the topic ‘Oppression and Mismanagement’. The speaker for this lecture was Mr. Manendra Singh, Associate Partner at Economic Laws Practice, Mumbai (ELP). Mr. Manendra explained what are the instances of oppression and mismanagement in a company, who can file a complaint against such behaviour by the majority, and the process involved before the NCLT and NCLAT (Tribunals) to litigate such matters.

The purpose of the research was to identify the existing metric in the field of social justice and to identify the collaboration and integration of social justice in various disciplines. The aim of this paper is to assist the scholars in comprehending the significance of social justice and bibliometric analysis is to help the scholar to work in this field.

Priyanshi Ranchh (19bla094) and Palash Pareek (18bal037) were adjudged as breaking adjudicators and Chairs of Octo Finalist.

Team comprising Kartik Nagpal (20bbl028) and Vinay Kella (20bal072) were adjudged as semi-finalists in the Credence BPD organised by Jagran Lakecity University from May 28-31, 2021.

Moot Achievements

Akshit Mishra (17bal071) declared as – 2ⁿ� Best Adjudicator & Invited Adjudicator in NMIMS Loquitor International Competition organised by NMIMS Law School, Mumbai from April 2-4, 2021. Varun Hinge (19bal059) stood first in the virtual quiz

organized by Center for Study and Research in Intellectual Property Rights (CSRIPR) at the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL) in collaboration with Intellectual Property Rights Competition as part of their 1�� CSRIPR' 21 Fest on May 4, 2021.

Aadesh Shinde (17bal061) has been declared the Winner of the All India Debate Competition organized by the Vishwa Hindi Sangathan, New Delhi. The event was held on 30�� May 2021, marking the celebration of the Hindi Journalism Day.

Siddhanth Dubey has ranked 3�� in the Article writing competition on Insolvency Law, IDIA Delhi chapter. The topic which made him achieve the feat was: "Insolvency of Financial Institutions: Too Big to Fail".

Aditi Bhardwaj, a member of the music committee released her debut single “SAAZ” which is currently streaming on all platforms.

Tangerine 7.0

Aditi Mishra(19BBL003), the secretary of this committee has secured the first position at the solo singing competition “Beat the beat” in Genesis 2021 organized by IMNU. Core committee member Amit Maheshwari(19BBL012) was selected in top 20 singers in the same.

Akshit Mishra (17bal071) & Aarush Sharma (19bbl064) were Grand Finalists and Akshit Mishra was 9�� Best Speaker in Mumbai British Parliamentary Debate (International) from April 24-25, 2021, organised by GLC, Mumbai organised Government Law College.

Music Club ILNU organised Tangerine 7.0 on May 7, 2021. The students engaged in the music event and it was a refreshing activity amongst the Covid blues

British Parliamentary Debate (National) from April 19- 21, 2021, organised by CNLU, Patna.

Other Achievements

The article is on the topic, "The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016: An Opportunity to create an Inclusive Work Environment." Authored by Yashvardhan Ghosh (20bal076) and Tanisha Gautam (20bal063) been published in the Centre for Disability Studies & Health Laws blog of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam.

The article titled "A religious awakening or an Identity Crisis" authored by Navya Dubey (20bal113) has been published in "International journal of advanced legal Research".
