Dear Scholarship Applicant: The Home Builders & Remodelers Union Contractors Council (HBR UCC) is a Council within an organization made up of firms in the building industry that include builders, remodelers, developers, and associated businesses – all dedicated to improving the professional stature of our industry. The association UCC has developed a Scholarship Program to encourage qualified students to continue their interest in the home building industry. The scholarship will be in the amount of $500. Applications will be reviewed with a recipient selected by the members of the HBR UCC.

Consideration will be given to academics, building-related involvement, leadership & extracurricular activities and community involvement. Scholarship checks are payable in the name of the applicant for use towards tools needed on jobsites with union contractors and are distributed by the Home Builders & Remodelers Union Contractors Council. The HBR UCC directs and administers the scholarship program. Scholarship recipients will be notified by e-mail if they have been awarded this scholarship. HBR Union Contractors Council Program Explanation and Guidelines

Students must be under the age of 23 in a construction-related career path which may include construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, architecture, design, or any of the trade specialties at the college, trade school or university they attend. Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Students must be a high school senior or enrolled in community college.

Students must be in good standing with a C+ grade average or higher.

Students must submit the required academic documents: most recent transcripts to be submitted with application and letter of recommendation from their school counselor or teacher.

The student applicant must come from one of the following counties: Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Greene, Jersey, Madison, Monroe, Randolph and St. Clair Counties

Student must provide proof of local union dues paid

Student must provide “Letter of Intent” from a local Union Contractor
