About the Centre• MahatMa Jothirao Phule Centre (MJPC) was

inaugurated in the University on 18th November,2014.

• Justice M. N. Rao, former Chief Justice of HimacHalPradesh HigH Court and former Chair Person,NatioNal Commission of Backward Classes hasdelivered inaugural address;

• The Centre operates only with the university funds.

What the Centre Stands for?

• The main objective of this Centre is tofacilitate the intellectuals, academicians,researchers and students to undertakestudies with an intention to understand,assess and disseminate ideas andthoughts of Mahatma Jothirao Phule

Key Objectives of the Centre• Promoting the studies and research on Mahatma Jothirao

Phule’s Philosophy, ideas and thoughts.

• Encouraging critical discussions on the ideology of Phule,through seminars, workshops, etc.,,

• Developing appropriate methodologies to translate MahatmaPhule’s ideas into practical propositions and policy instruments.

• Inviting and publishing papers or books on Mahatma Phule’sideology and thoughts.

• Organizing meetings| and workshops on the contemporarySocio-economic issues plaguing the society at large and themarginalized sections in particular.

Facilities in the Centre:• The Centre got its own library with good collection of books related to

the fields of Sociology, Politics, Economics and Law.

• The Centre got an attached reading hall facility for the students, research scholars, teachers and non teaching on all working days.

• The Centre offers research programme leading to the award of Ph.D.

degree, with effect from the Academic year 2016-2017.

• The Center has a pool of resource persons volunteered to interact with the persons interested in promoting the ideology of Phule
