District Conference ( cont. from pg 1)project to fight hunger. Using assembly line techniques, the Conference attendees packed 20,088 food boxes in one hour and forty-five minutes. These life-giving necessities will be shipped to impoverished areas of the world. This is an awesome example of how Rotarians are engaged to change lives!

Our club received several awards and our attendees learned that we are seen as a growing, lively, and energetic Rotary club. Our leadership and you, the members, have worked hard for several years now to get us that recognition and we are happily reaping the rewards. We look forward to many more years of

President Andy and Secretary Kelly wore hairnets and gloves for two changing lives through Rotary service! hours to help pack food bags during the District Conference.

Gifts We Share I enjoy being a Rotarian because it gives me an outlet for public service, keeps me informedon civic matters through our great programs, and the food and fellowship can't be beat.

President's Message Let me begin by first thanking all the members of the award committee for theirdedication and arduous work on the Barnesville Rotary Club Awards’ Books. Lastmonth in April, our commitment paid off as it allowed us to receive the followingawards at the District Conference in Sandestin, Florida: 2013-14 Governors 6-PillarAward; 2013-14 Presidential Citation With Distinction Award; and 2013-14 Best ClubAdministration Runner-Up. I can say for certain that this year’s conference has tremendously renewed the truemeaning of our motto “Service Above Self”. Hopefully all our members will be able toattend the next District Conference in Jekyll Island, Georgia. It is my belief that we can accomplish much in this society if we place into action…”Engage Rotary, Change Lives”. As we prepare for our 100th Anniverssary of the Rotary Foundation and the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia in 2017, it is with great anticipation that polio would have been eradicated by then.

Andy B. Bush, President, Rotary Club of Barnesville
