total world mango production.
Mango covers an area of 4,369
thousand ha with a production of
31.2 million tons.
World scenario:
Mango (Mangifera indica Linn) is the most important fruit of
India and is known as King of fruits.

be offered by financial institutions.
All growers-irrespective of Loanee or Non- loanee; Small
/Marginal; Owners or tenants/Sharecroppers can buy MangoWeather Insurance.
It allows for speedy settlement of indemnities, as early as afortnight after the indemnity
period.
Trigger events like adverse weather events can be independently
verified and measured.
Benefits of Weather Index Insurance:Mango Weather Insurance is a mechanism for providing
effective risk management aid to those individuals and
institutions likely to be impacted by adverse weather incidences.
