== Honey: Apply pure bees’ honey, generously over the face and
neck, and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Then massage gently in a cir-
cular motion and wash off with warm water.
== Fresh Sliced Papaya: Apply a mashed up papaya to the skin,
and leave it for 25 minutes. Then wash it off and tone and mois-
turise, as usual. You will be amazed as to how soft and clear your
skin looks.
== Lemon Juice: The best way to apply lemon juice is by making a
two-part solution - one part water and one part lemon juice. This
can be adjusted, depending on how your skin feels. Soak a cotton
ball, or pad, in the solution and apply all over - leave overnight, if
necessary. You may feel a slight tingling sensation, due to the citric
acids, but don’t worry this means it’s working. To get the most of
lemon's brightening benefits, apply all over the face.
== Strawberries and Yoghurt: If you've got a fresh batch of straw-
berries and a pot of natural yoghurt, in your fridge, try this quick and
easy remedy: Dice and smash three strawberries. Mix the strawber-
ries with three tablespoons of yoghurt. To add more beneficial prop-
erties, add in two teaspoons of honey, and mix. Leave the mask on
for 15 to 20 minutes and remove with a warm, damp cloth.
== Coconut Oil: Apply one teaspoon, of pure coconut oil, all over
the face, after toning, and leave overnight. This way the oil will have
time to eat away bacteria while you sleep (while also keeping it
moisturised). Some people may experience further breakouts, initial-
ly, but don’t fret. Give coconut oil a few weeks to clear away your
stubborn acne. The results may surprise you!
== Egg Whites: Whisk one egg white, until fluffy, and apply even-
ly to the skin. Allow the mask to dry fully and remove with lukewarm
water. After, splash your face with cold water to help seal pores.
== Cucumber: Peel and grate a cucumber and apply it on your
entire face and allow it to rest for at least 15-30 minutes and then
rinse it off with water. This will not only help you to get rid of pim-
ples but you will also be able to get rid of blackheads.
== Aloe Vera: Take the gel, from an aloe Vera leaf and apply it on
the pimples and see the results. The most important thing to note
about Aloe Vera is that it not only helps you to get rid of pimples but
also makes your skin smooth.
== Garlic: Rub garlic, on the affected area , many times a day.
Though it smells pungent, it’s one of the most effective home reme-
dies for pimples. Moreover, add garlic to your food as it purifies
blood and prevents breakout of acne.
== Tomatoes: Apply the pulp of raw tomatoes on your face. Let it
stay for an hour. Then rinse off with water. Along with reducing pim-
ples, this remedy will bring a natural glow to your face. However,
you must use this remedy for a couple of weeks.
== Potato: Potato is one of the most effective home remedies for
pimples. Grate a potato and extract its juice. Soak a cotton ball in
this juice and apply it on the affected area. Or else, cut a potato in
thin slices. Put these slices on the pimples. It will also reduce the
blemishes, making your skin clear and flawless.
Most award ceremonies are
generally mundane affairs.
The winners, and invitees, arrive
in full suit, and head straight to their
seats…and looking quite serious, as
well.
And, then, they have to give ear
to (quite often) long, and boring,
speeches.
This is not something unusual as
most award ceremonies are classi-
fied as very formal events.
However, there is one guy who
has dared to be different, and his
presence, at an awards ceremony,‘‘Lions’ Roar,’’ the Annual Dinner
Dance of the Trinity College
OBA, Colombo branch, unfold-
ed amid much glamour and glitz, on
October 3rd, at Hilton Colombo.
Held for the 107th time, this was yet
another memorable evening of fellow-
ship, music and dance. The mesmerising
and upbeat tunes of Misty and Doctor
treated all participants to a grand extravagan-
za.
Unfailingly, “Lions’ Roar” proved to be an
astounding success, boasting the pride, and
heritage, that is synonymous with Trinity.
And, believe it or not, “Lions Roar 2016’’
has been scheduled for October 1st, 2016, at
the same venue.

does generate a lot of smiles, applause, turning of
heads, etc.
Kiran Atapattu is a well known personality,
especially in the business field, and, because of his
out-of-the-ordinary approach, he has found mega
success coming his way.
At the NCE Exporter of the Year ceremony, held
recently, Colombo Engineering, headed by the
dynamic Kiran, clinched the Gold award.
And since it was the 50th award, won by this
MTD Walkers company, Kiran decided to make a
grand appearance, at the awards ceremony.
He does it all the time but, in this instant, it was
extra special.
Kiran came dressed up in a flamboyant
Maharajah outfit and, the very moment he made
his way, toward the podium, to receive the presti-
gious award, the smiles became very evident, the
applause grew loud, and all eyes were focused on
him.
Says Kiran, on doing it differently: “I’ve noticed,
at these award ceremonies, everyone comes
dressed up, and are pretty much quiet in their
seats. Some even fall asleep! So, I thought, by
being different, with my outfits, I can infuse some
life into the crowd!”
And Kiran has certainly made that happen
because everyone seems attentive when his name
is mentioned!
“I select my clothes, very carefully, for every
awards ceremony. Everything has to match - metic-
ulously. And I make a special outfit everytime I
have to attend such events.”
Yes, Kiran Atapattu is certainly a head-turner!
His glitzy outfits make him the cynosure of all eyes,
whenever he turns up at an event.
