5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 7, 2021
My Dear Friends, I pray because I believe in the power of prayer. I pray because I have no doubt that God has answered my prayers. I pray because God allowed me to wake up to see another day. No matter what others think or say…I will pray. We Believe In God. I don’t know who the author of this prayer is but this prayer “sums” up who we are to be as Christians. We hear in the Gospel, “Rising very early before dawn, He left and went off to a deserted place, where He prayed. The importance of PRAYER!!! Question, “Do we pray?” Do we care to pray? We as human beings are the first to complain when things go wrong in our lives. We criticize, indulge, whine, and become angry about many things. I’m reminded of a saying that I once heard, “Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you once made. If you want different results, make different choices.” When we are met with challenges in our lives, those challenges are the moments that say so much about who we are as a person, a Christian, a Catholic. The Gospel demonstrates the importance of prayer and the need to remain in prayer battling the forces of evil. If our Lord and Savior needed to pray, what makes us different? Question, do we pray? Blessings, Fr. Junior
