PAVEMENT COURSES LESS THAN 150mm INCOMPACTED THICKNESS SHALL BE SPREAD AND COMPACTED IN TWO ORMORE LAYERS OF NOT LESS THAN 75mm OR MORE THAN 150mm INCOMPACTED THICKNESS.2. EACH PASS OF THE COMPACTION PLANT SHALL BE PARALLEL TO THECENTRE LINE OF THE PAVEMENT. THE METHOD OF COMPACTION SHALLALLOW FOR PROGRESSIVE AND UNIFORM OVERLAP BETWEEN PASSES.7. IF NON-VIBRATING SMOOTH-WHEELED ROLLERS ARE USED ASCOMPACTION PLANT. THEY SHALL BE OPERATED WITH THE DRIVINGROLLERS FACING THE UNCOMPACTED MATERIAL DURING THE INITIALPASS.8. IF VIBRATING ROLLERS ARE USED AS COMPACTION PLANT, THEVIBRATOR SHALL NOT BE ACTIVATED UNTIL A MINIMUM OF TWO "STATIC"PASSES HAVE BEEN MADE. IN ADDITION, THE VIBRATORS SHALL NOT BEACTIVATED DURING ANY CHANGE IN DIRECTION OF THE ROLLER.9.
