COMMON ISSUES SUFFERED BY SHY DOGS RESCUED FROM PUPPY MILLS Can’t climb or descend stairs Will not take treats Will not eat Needs to be housetrained Will not look you in the eye Will not come out of the corner (out of the crate, out of its bed) Will not enter a doorway into another room Afraid of the car Afraid of men Does not want to be touched Runs away when walked up to Startles easily Spinning/circling Impossible to get him back inside when outside within the fence Fear of grass or pavement – does not like walks Will not socialize with the family/afraid of visitors in the home/does not like children Does not wag his/her tail Will not play with toys Has separation anxiety Eats his/her own poop Eats the furniture Does not bark Patience is key….and good, high value treats!
